Agnetha Chelimo (born 28 May 1974) is a Kenyan former racewalker. [1] She was a four-time African champion in the discipline.
As a teenager she led the development of women's racewalking in Africa. At thirteen she was the gold medallist in the inaugural women's 5000 metres race walk at the 1987 All-Africa Games, ahead of two other Kenyan athletes. She returned four years later to claim the second title, finishing several seconds ahead of fellow Kenyan Grace Karimi and Algeria's Dounia Kara, who was to succeed her in 1995. [2]
She was also a leading athlete in the development of the event at the African Championships in Athletics, winning the second and third editions of the 5000 m walk championship in 1989 and 1990. [3]
She entered the 5000 m walk at the 1988 World Junior Championships in Athletics and placed thirteenth. [4] Between 1986 and 1991 she won five Kenyan national titles in racewalking. [5]

The UK Athletics Championships was an annual national championship in track and field for the United Kingdom, organised by the British Athletics Federation. Siv Gustavsson is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was the gold medallist at the 1981 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, making her the second ever female world champion in the sport.
Terrence Paul Brahm is an American former long-distance runner. He was the bronze medalist in the 3000 meters at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1987 and represented the United States in the 5000 meters at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was the 1986 NCAA champion in that event for the Indiana Hoosiers.
Laurence Elloy-Machabey is a French track and field athlete who competed in the sprint hurdles. She is a former French national record holder with her best of 12.69 seconds for the 100 metres hurdles. She twice represented France at both the Summer Olympics and the World Championships in Athletics and was a three-time participant at the European Athletics Championships.

Aleksandra Grigoryeva is a Russian former racewalking athlete. She was the gold medallist at the 1985 Summer Universiade, becoming the inaugural women's walk champion at the event. She represented the Soviet Union at the 1986 European Athletics Championships.
Abdelwahab Ferguène is an Algerian former racewalking athlete who competed in the 20 kilometres race walk. Born in Akbou, he twice represented Algeria at the Summer Olympics, 26th in 1984 and 32nd in 1988. He was also a three-time participant at the World Championships in Athletics and a four-time representative at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup. He was a two-time winner of the African Championships in Athletics and won four continental silver medals. He also finished in the top two at the Maghreb Athletics Championships and Arab Athletics Championships throughout his career.

Natalya Sorokivskaya is a Kazakhstani female former long-distance runner who competed for the Soviet Union and later Kazakhstan. She competed in track, road and cross country running disciplines. She holds the Kazakhstani national records from 3000 metres to the 10K run and also the half marathon record.
María Reyes Sobrino Jiménez is a Spanish former racewalking athlete who competed mainly in the 3000 metres race walk and 10 kilometres race walk. Her greatest achievement was a gold medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1988. She was a five-time participant at the IAAF World Racewalking Cup and twice a World Championships in Athletics competitor.
Monica Gunnarsson is a Swedish female former racewalking athlete. She was a seven-time participant at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup, racing at every edition from 1983 to 1995. Her best finish at the competition was 14th, achieved in 1991. She also represented her country at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics, where she was sixth overall, and was eighth at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 and 1990. She was a bronze medallist at the 1987 European Athletics Indoor Championships.

Typically held over two to three days in February during the Dutch winter, it was first added to the national calendar in 1933, supplementing the main outdoor Polish Athletics Championships held in the summer since 1920. The national indoor competition was held from 1933 to 1956. After a near twenty-year gap, the championships was restored to its annual fixture in 1973.
