The Pune Ahmedabad Duronto Express is a Superfast express train of Indian Railways Duronto Class that connects Pune Junction (PUNE) to Ahmedabad Junction (ADI).

Initially these trains did not have any ticketing stops between the origin and the destination, but since January 2016 it is possible to book tickets from those technical stops. "Duronto" means "Non-stop" in Bangla. These trains' coaches have characteristic yellow-green livery which contains a by-meaning signature which are a field full of flower and a river flowing over it, 2nd meaning is a boy is running on the fields which signifies the meaning of Duronto. Duronto Express services connect the several metros and major state capitals of India.

Ahmedabad Junction railway station

Ahmedabad Junction railway station is the main railway station of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is also the biggest railway station within Gujarat. It is the second-highest income generating division in Western Railways after the Mumbai Division.

Coach composition

The rake has nine AC 3-tier coaches, three AC 2-tier coaches, one AC First Class, and two EOG cars, making a total of fifteen coaches. It does not have a pantry car coach.

As with most train services in India, Coach Composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways, depending on the demand.

It is the fastest train on the PuneAhmedabad sector, averaging 73.27 km/hr in both directions.

Train Details

This train had its inaugural run on 11 March 2012 and it runs with new Duronto rakes.

It is one of three Duronto Express trains that run from Pune Junction, the others being 12221/22 Pune Howrah Duronto Express and 12263/64 Hazrat Nizamuddin Pune Duronto Express.

The 12221 / 22 Pune Howrah Duronto Express is a Superfast express train of the Indian Railways connecting Pune Junction (PUNE) to Howrah Junction (HWH). It is currently being operated with 12221 / 12222 train numbers.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Pune Duronto Express

The Hazrat Nizamuddin Pune Duronto Express is a superfast express train of Indian Railways Duronto Class connecting Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) to Pune (PUNE). It is currently being operated with train numbers 12263 / 12264.

Traction

Dual traction WCAM 2/2P or WCAM 3 locomotives from the Kalyan shed would haul the train all the way in both directions.

With progressive electrification changeover from DC traction to AC traction, Vadodara based WAP 5 or WAP 7 locomotives have begun hauling the train.

Halts

It halts at two stations only, which are Lonavala, and Vasai Road.
