Air Force Falcons boxing

The Air Force Falcons boxing team represents the United States Air Force Academy in the National Collegiate Boxing Association. Led for 31 years by Coach Ed Weichers, the team has had astounding success. It has won 18 national championships, and from 1980 to 2007, never finished lower than second in the nation. In 2008 and 2009, Air Force finished third.[ permanent dead link ]

Howard Edward Davis Jr. was an American amateur and professional boxer. Growing up on Long Island as the eldest of 10 children, Davis first learned boxing from his father. After being inspired by a movie about Muhammad Ali, Davis embarked on his amateur career. He won the 1976 Olympic gold medal one week after his mother died. He was also awarded the Val Barker Trophy at the Olympics, beating out such boxers as Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Spinks and Leon Spinks.

The Chicago Golden Gloves is an amateur boxing tournament, considered by many boxing aficionados as one of the three most elite Golden Gloves titles, along with the Intercity Golden Gloves and the New York Golden Gloves. The tournament is also more formally known as the Chicagoland Golden Gloves Charities Tournament. It was initiated by the Chicago Tribune sports editor Arch Ward in 1923. The program and tournament are currently run by Directors Ted Gimza, Dr. Glenn Bynum, and Sam Colonna.

The Air Force Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the United States Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The athletics department has 17 men's and 10 women's NCAA-sanctioned teams. The current athletic director is Nathan Pine. The majority of Falcon teams compete as members of the Mountain West Conference.

The Streak was a period of 68 years over which Easton Area High School always produced at least one individual district champion in the sport of wrestling. From 1948 to 2015, Easton had 185 individual district wrestling champions, while never failing to have at least one champion, in any year. Competing in Pennsylvania's PIAA District 11, a district that has long been regarded as one of the most competitive districts in the US for the sport of wrestling, Easton High School's Streak was considered to be a testament to the program's consistently excellent performance.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is an American bare-knuckle boxing promotion based in Philadelphia. BKFC is the first promotion to hold an official state-sanctioned and commissioned bare-knuckle boxing event in the United States since 1889. Its first event was held in 2018, with 19 "numbered" events held as of July 2021. TKO Major League MMA is a Canadian mixed martial arts promotion originally broadcast on RDS and later on Fight Network. The 2003 Saint John's Johnnies football team represented Saint John's University as a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) during the 2003 NCAA Division III football season. In their 51st season under head coach John Gagliardi, the Johnnies compiled a 14–0 record and won the NCAA Division III championship.

2022 is the sixth year in the history of Legacy Fighting Alliance, a mixed martial arts promotion based in the United States.
