The Kohl Center is a multi-purpose arena located at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, United States. The arena opened in 1998 and is the home of the university's men's basketball and ice hockey teams, and the women's basketball team.
The Pete Maravich Assembly Center is a 13,215-seat multi-purpose arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The arena opened in 1972. It was originally known as the LSU Assembly Center, but was renamed in honor of Pete Maravich, a Tiger basketball legend, shortly after his death in 1988. Louisiana governor Buddy Roemer signed an act to rename the building in Maravich's honor. Maravich never played in the arena as a collegian but played in it as a member of the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game. But his exploits while at LSU led the university to build a larger home for the basketball team, which languished for decades in the shadow of the school's football program. The Maravich Center is known to locals as "The PMAC" or "Pete's Palace", or by its more nationally known nickname, "The Deaf Dome", coined by Dale Brown. The Maravich Center's neighbor, Tiger Stadium is known as "Death Valley".
Carolina Coliseum is a 12,401-seat former multi-purpose arena in Columbia, South Carolina, built in 1968 by the University of South Carolina. The Coliseum was the largest arena in South Carolina at the time of its completion. It was the home of the USC men's and women's basketball teams from 1968 to 2002, as well as Columbia's main events venue until 2002, when the Colonial Life Arena, opened a block away on Greene Street.
Alfred James McGuire was an American college basketball coach and broadcaster, the head coach at Marquette University from 1964 to 1977. He won a national championship in his final season at Marquette, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. He was also well known as a longtime national television basketball broadcaster and for his colorful personality.

McDonough Gymnasium, sometimes referred to as McDonough Arena when hosting a sports or entertainment event, is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Officially known as McDonough Memorial Gymnasium, it opened in 1951 and can hold 2,200 spectators for sports events.
Marquette Gymnasium is a gymnasium on the campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, built in 1922. The building was the first full-time home of the Marquette men's basketball team before they moved, originally part-time, to the MECCA Arena. In later years, the building served as a practice facility for the team, as well as the home of the women's basketball and volleyball teams before the completion of the Al McGuire Center. Currently, the building houses offices for the Intercollegiate Athletics department and the school's Army and Naval ROTC departments.
The 1970 National Invitation Tournament was the 1970 edition of the annual NCAA college basketball competition. It was unique in that coach Al McGuire of 8th ranked Marquette University, unhappy with his team's NCAA tournament placement in the Midwest rather than the closer Mideast regional, turned down that bid and elected to play in the NIT instead. His Marquette Warriors went on to claim the championship, and as a result the NCAA now forbids its members from playing in other postseason tournaments if offered an NCAA bid.

The 2017 Big East women's basketball tournament, also known as the 2017 Big East championship, was a tournament held from March 4 to 7, 2017, at Al McGuire Center on the Marquette University campus in Milwaukee. The host Marquette Golden Eagles won the tournament and with it an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament.
The 2016–17 Marquette Golden Eagles women's basketball team represented Marquette University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Eagles, led by third year head coach Carolyn Kieger, played their home games at the Al McGuire Center and were members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 25–8, 13–5 in Big East play to finish in third place. They won the Big East tournament title for the first time in school history and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they received a No. 5 seed in the Stockton Region. They were upset by No. 12 seed Quinnipiac in the first round.
The 1970–71 Marquette Warriors men's basketball team represented Marquette University in NCAA Division I men's competition in the 1970–71 academic year. The Warriors were ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 from January 1971 through the end of the regular season and finished the regular season undefeated with a record of 28–0. The team advanced to the 1971 NCAA University Division basketball tournament where it defeated Miami and SEC champion Kentucky, but lost to Ohio State. The team finished with a 28–1 record.

The Golden Eagles, led by third year head coach Megan Duffy, played their home games at the Al McGuire Center and were members of the Big East Conference.
