Alan Hatherly (born 15 March 1996) is a South African professional mountain bike racer. [2] He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [3] He finished in 26th place with a time of 1:42:03. In 2018, Alan achieved a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, subsequently going on to be crowned the 2018 Under 23 Cross Country World Champion.
In early 2019, it was announced that he would leave South African team, Team Spur, and ride for the Specialized Factory team for 2019. He moved to Cannondale Factory Racing for the 2021 season and beyond.
He qualified to represent South Africa at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [4]
Since 2023, he has also competed in road cycling, joining UCI Continental team EF Education–Nippo Development Team. [5]
Nino Schurter is a Swiss cross-country cyclist who races for the Scott–Sram MTB Racing Team.
Annie Last, is an English professional cyclist, representing Great Britain and England, who specialises in mountain biking and cyclo-cross. She was chosen as a female competitor in the cross country mountain bike event for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, going on to take 8th place.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is a French multi-discipline bicycle racer, who rides for UCI Mountain Bike team Ineos Grenadiers in cross-country cycling. Ferrand-Prévot has also competed in road bicycle racing and cyclo-cross during her career, winning the world title in each discipline. During the 2015 season, aged just 23, she became the first person ever – in the history of cycling – to simultaneously hold the World road title, World cyclo-cross title and World cross-country mountain bike title.
Jolanda Neff is a Swiss cyclist, who primarily rides in the cross-country cycling and cyclo-cross disciplines, for the Trek Factory Racing team. She won the gold medal in the women's cross-country event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Samuel William Gaze is a New Zealand cross-country and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Alpecin–Deceuninck. He won the under-23 Cross-Country at the 2016 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships and the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. He also competes on occasion in road racing events, winning the National Criterium Championships in 2017 and 2018.
Evie Richards is a British cyclist from Malvern, Worcestershire, England who specialises in mountain bike and cyclo-cross racing. who became the women's cross-country world champion at the 2021 Mountain Bike World Championships. Previously, Richards had been under-23 cyclo-cross world champion at the 2016 and 2018 World Championships. In 2022, Richards added a first Commonwealth Games gold in cross-country mountain bike to her palmarès.
Victor Koretzky is a French cross-country mountain biker and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. He won the junior cross-country world championship in 2011. Competing with the French team he won the cross-country team relay world championship in 2011, 2015, and 2016.
Jenny Rissveds is a Swedish cross-country mountainbike rider. She won the gold medal in the under-23 mountainbike race at the World Championships in 2016.
Mathias Flückiger is a Swiss mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal. His brother Lukas is also a cyclist. In 2022 he was suspended for doping.
Henrique Avancini is a Brazilian mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Partnered with German rider Manuel Fumic at the 2016 and 2017 Absa Cape Epic, he won the prologue time trial and stage 1 in 2017, and the stage 7 finale in 2016.
Anne Terpstra is a Dutch cross-country cyclist. She placed 15th in the women's cross-country race at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She was on the start list of 2018 Cross-Country European Championships and was not allowed to finish.
