Alex Anthony (Born in 1972) aka Alex Anthony Sioukas is best known as the Public Address announcer for Major League Baseball's New York Mets, a position he held from 2004 to 2017, first at Shea Stadium and then at Citi Field since the Mets moved there in 2009. He has been called the "Voice of the Mets." He is also the PA announcer for the New York Jets and the New York Islanders
Before becoming an announcer for the New York Mets, Anthony was the PA announcer for New York Islanders games at the Nassau Coliseum from 1995 to 1998. Anthony also announced New York Jets games at Giants Stadium and New Meadowlands Stadium from 2002 to 2008, while also announcing for the New York Mets. He later became the backup PA announcer for the New York Rangers from 2008 to 2012 while still continuing to announce for the Mets. In the offseason before the 2018 season, Anthony was fired from the Mets for inappropriate jokes and slurs, unprofessional and poor work ethic, misconduct and sexual harassment. [1] [2] He returned to the New York Islanders since their move to the Barclays Center in 2015, when then-Islanders PA Announcer Roger Luce was unavailable. He went back to full-time for the Islanders in 2019, as he called every game of the 2019–2020 season, and continued to do so for the Islanders final season at Nassau Coliseum. He was the announcer for the US Open Tennis Championship in 2002 and 2003.[ citation needed ]
Anthony served as a PA voice during the 2006 National League Championship Series, the 2013 All-Star Game, and the 2015 World Series.[ citation needed ]
As of 2024 Alex can be heard at every home game for the New York Islanders at UBS Arena and the New York Jets at Metlife Stadium respectively
Anthony grew up in Garden City, New York, a largely upper-middle class suburb of New York City. He came from a Greek-American family, and his father was a furrier.[ citation needed ]
He was a talented baseball player — going on to play for Adelphi University, but was even more well known in his community for providing play-by-play commentary of neighborhood stickball and softball games.[ citation needed ]
Apart from in-stadium sports announcing, he also does voice-over work on several radio and television commercials, and video games, such as Grand Theft Auto . [5] Anthony also works as an announcer for harness racing events held at Yonkers Raceway on days when the Mets are not playing.[ citation needed ]

The Lighthouse Project, officially named The Lighthouse at Long Island, was a proposed transformation of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the area surrounding it into a modern suburban area. The project was first introduced by New York Islanders owner Charles Wang. The base of the project was a newly renovated Coliseum for the New York Islanders to play in. Surrounding the Coliseum would be houses, offices, restaurants, and various stores, as well as Long Island's first five-star hotel. There would also be an athletic complex, conference and exhibition facilities, and a minor league baseball ballpark.
John Jules Ramsey was a public address announcer best known as the original PA voice for the California Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Raiders. He was also the PA voice for the Los Angeles Rams and USC Trojans football and basketball teams. He also announced four Super Bowls in Southern California and one in Palo Alto, California, as well as serving as the basketball PA voice during the 1984 Summer Olympics. UBS Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena located within Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, United States, directly adjacent to the New York City limits. Opened in 2021, it is the home of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL), replacing the Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center. The arena officially seats 17,250 patrons for NHL games and up to 19,000 for concerts and other select events. Fans and sports writers have affectionately nicknamed the arena "The Stable" due to the arena being located at Belmont Park, a famous thoroughbred racing venue.
Alex Faust is an American television sportscaster who is currently the TV play-by-play voice for the Boston Bruins and occasional radio play-by-play voice for the New York Rangers and formerly the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He also calls national NHL games for TNT, and national Major League Baseball (MLB) games for Apple TV+ and Fox Sports. He gained additional fame in 2018 when Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek suggested that Faust could replace him as the show's host.
The 2019–20 New York Islanders season was the 48th season in the franchise's history. It was their fifth season in the Barclays Center in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, which they moved into after leaving Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Nassau County on Long Island at the conclusion of the 2014–15 season. During the regular season, the Islanders were scheduled to play 21 home games at Nassau Coliseum but on September 23 moved seven more games from the Barclays Center, making it a total of 28 games to be played at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. On February 29, 2020, it was announced that the Islanders would play their last game at Barclays Center on March 22, and then would move to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum permanently.
