George Kalinsky

George Kalinsky is a photographer. He has been the official photographer for Madison Square Garden since 1966 and also serves as the official photographer at Radio City Music Hall. In November 2010 the National Arts Club awarded him their Medal of Honor for Photography. [1]

Kalinsky's photos have been in many major publications, such as Sports Illustrated , People , Newsweek , and The New York Times. He has authored ten books.

In May 2009, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opened an exhibit dedicated to photographs Kalinsky took at some of Madison Square Garden's most legendary concerts. [2] Many of these photographs are now part of the Museum's permanent collection.

Beginning with the 2010 baseball season, the New York Mets, for whom Kalinsky had been the official photographer, are displaying throughout Citi Field many photographs by Kalinsky.

Biography

Kalinsky was honored with the 2017 Legends Award by the Pratt Institute with a dinner at the Mandarin Hotel in November 2017. The New-York Historical Society had an exhibit "New York through the Lens of George Kalinsky" featuring 80 images of Kalinsky's work from the last 50 years. The show opened to great reviews and will be on extended viewing until July 2018. The museum will make this exhibit part of their permanent collection. In February 2018, Sports Business Journal featured Kalinsky and his career on the front page of their magazine. Frank Sinatra Enterprises is also producing a documentary on Kalinsky's 50-year career.

Walter "Clyde" Frazier Jr. is an American former professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). As their floor general and top perimeter defender, he led the New York Knicks to the franchise's only two championships, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. Upon his retirement from basketball, Frazier went into broadcasting; he is currently a color commentator for telecasts of Knicks games on the MSG Network. In 1996, Frazier was honored as one of the league's greatest players of all time by being named to the NBA 50th Anniversary Team. In October 2021, Frazier was again honored as one of the league's greatest players of all time by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

Edward S. Irish was an American basketball promoter and one of the key figures in popularizing professional basketball. He was the founder and president of the New York Knicks from 1946 to 1974. He was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964. Carey Elwes portrayed him in the 2023 movie Sweetwater.

The MSG Network (MSG) is an American regional cable and satellite television network, and radio service owned by MSG Entertainment, Inc.—a spin-off of the main Madison Square Garden Company operation.

Robert Goodman was an American boxing matchmaker, publicist, and promoter. Rich Clarkson is a Denver, Colorado based photographer that has a long history covering American sports. Rich owns a production company, Clarkson Creative, that specializes in photography, video production, design, and book publishing among other things. In addition, his company has organized the top-tier photography educational workshops, Summit Series of Photography Workshops, for over 30 years. The small group also handles all championship photography for the NCAA and Colorado Rockies baseball club.

John Shearer was an American photographer, writer, and filmmaker, best known for his photojournalism, especially of "racial subjects", the funerals of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., and Muhammad Ali before his fight with Joe Frazier.

Louise Larocque Serpa was an American Photographer specializing in rodeo photography. Born in New York City, Serpa became one of the first women allowed into the rodeo area to photograph, which led to a 48 year long career until her death in 2012.
