Aliaksei Aleksandrovich Shostak [lower-alpha 1] (born February 8, 1995) is an American trampoline gymnast. He represented the United States at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. He is the son of Belarusian Olympian Aleksandr Shostak.

Gymnastics career

National competition

Shostak has competed at six USA Gymnastics Championships. In 2014 he won silver in the synchro competition with Jeffrey Gluckstein. [1] In 2015 he won bronze in the synchro competition with Gluckstein. [2] In 2016 he won bronze in the synchro competition with Gluckstein. [3] In 2017 he won gold in the synchro competition with Gluckstein. [4] In 2018 he won silver on trampoline. [5] In 2019, he won silver on trampoline. [6]

International competition

In October 2015, Shostak competed at the 2015 World Cup, where he won bronze in the synchro competition with Jeffrey Gluckstein. [7] In May 2016, he competed at the 2016 Shanghai World Cup, where he won bronze in the synchro competition with Gluckstein. [8] In July 2017, he competed at the 2017 World Games, where he finished in fifth place in the synchro competition. [9]

In October 2018, he competed at the 2018 Loule World Cup. [10] In April 2019, he competed at the 2019 Minsk World Cup, where he finished in fourth place in the synchro competition. [11] In June 2021, he competed at the 2021 Brescia World Cup where he won bronze in the synchro competition with Gluckstein. [12] [13]

Shostak has represented the United States at six World Championships. At the 2019 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships, he finished in fifth place in the synchro competition, and won silver in the team all-around. [14] As the top American finisher at the 2019 World Championships, he was named to team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The games were postponed until 2021, where Shostak competed but did not qualify for the finals. [15]

On June 26, 2024, Shostak was named to team USA's roster to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [16] During the men's trampoline event he scored 57.350 during his first routine, and fell during his second routine in the preliminary round. He finished in tenth place and did not advance to the final. [17]

He is the only person who has been an active trampolinist and trampoline coach at the Olympic Games.

Steven Gluckstein is a former American 2012 Olympian in gymnastic trampoline. He is a six-time National Men's US Trampoline Champion, five-time National US Men's Synchronized Trampoline Champion, and a six-time World Team member. In 2009, he and his partner Logan Dooley were the first gymnastic trampolinists in Team USA history to win a gold medal at a World Cup Series event. Gluckstein retired from competitive gymnastics in 2016 and is currently the head coach of the Junior U.S. National Trampoline team, as well as a trainer at Elite Trampoline Academy in New Jersey. He also regularly works with his wife, Camilla Lopes Gomes, a top-ranked Brazilian trampolinist.

Logan Dooley is an American trampoline gymnast. Dooley has competed at both American national and international level and was named as one of the "Fresh Faces of the 2012 Summer Olympics" by USA Today.

Savannah Vinsant is an American trampoline gymnast. She competed at the first Summer Youth Olympic Games. Vinsant also represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She became the first ever U.S. trampoline athlete to qualify for the finals. Savannah finished sixth place during the trampoline finals. She was the youngest female trampoline competitor at the games. In 2024, Vinsant was inducted into the USAG Hall of Fame.

Léa Labrousse is a French trampolinist. She is a two-time World silver medalist and the 2019 European Games individual champion. She became the first French woman to win gold at the European Trampoline Championships with her synchro partner Marine Jurbert. She represented France at the 2020 Summer Olympics and will compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Nicole Ahsinger is an American individual and synchronised trampoline gymnast. She won first place at the USA Gymnastics Championships in 2017, 2019, and 2021.

Dylan Matthew Schmidt is a New Zealand trampoline gymnast. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished in seventh place. He was New Zealand's first athlete to compete in trampoline at the Olympic Games. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won the bronze medal and became New Zealand's first Olympic medallist in any gymnastics discipline. He became the individual trampoline world champion at the 2022 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships and is New Zealand's first world champion in men's trampoline. He won the gold medal in the individual event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.

Ivan Uladzimiravich Litvinovich is a Belarusian trampoline gymnast. He represented Belarus at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal in the men's trampoline individual event. He again won the gold medal in the individual event at the 2024 Summer Olympics, as an Individual Neutral Athlete, making him the first male trampoline athlete ever to win two gold medals in the Olympics and the only AIN to win gold. He is a two-time World champion and the 2021 European champion in the individual team event, and he is the 2019 World individual silver medalist.
