Aliyah Abrams (born 3 April 1997) is a Guyanese sprinter specialising in the 400 metres. [1] She placed fifth in the women's 400m at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade.

Abrams represented Guyana at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the women's 400 metres race; her time of 52.79 seconds in the heats did not qualify her for the semifinals. [2] [3]

She qualified in her specialist event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she was eliminated in the semi-finals. [4]

She ran as part of the Guyana Mixed 4x400m relay team at the 2024 World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas. [5] She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics over 400 metres in August 2024. [6]

Her sister is fellow athlete Jasmine Abrams. [4]

The 400 metres, or 400-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field competitions. It has been featured in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1964 for women. On a standard outdoor running track, it is one lap around the track. Runners start in staggered positions and race in separate lanes for the entire course. Start lines are thus staggered over a greater distance than in an individual 400 metres race; the runners then typically move to the inside of the track. The slightly longer 4 × 440 yards relay, on an Imperial distance, was a formerly run British Commonwealth and American event, until metrication was completed in the 1970s.
