All About Eve is the self-titled debut album of All About Eve. Commercially, this was their most successful, reaching No. 7 in the UK charts and spawning four Top 40 singles (one of which went top 10). Most of the album was produced by Paul Samwell-Smith.
Some of the earlier cassette versions of the album had the album title Flowers in Our Hair printed on both sides of the tape, instead of All About Eve.
Although drummer Mark Price was a full-time member of the band when this album was completed, he was not present for all of its recording. Some songs feature Mick Brown, on loan from The Mission, one features session drummer Greg Brimstone, and one features a drum machine.
The album spent 29 weeks in the UK top 100 album charts, and is certified Gold with in excess of 100,000 units being sold.
All About Eve was bolstered by several singles preceding and following the album's February 1988 release: "In the Clouds" charted at No. 47 on the UK Singles Chart, "Wild Hearted Woman"/"Apple Tree Man" at No. 33, "Every Angel" at No. 30, "Martha's Harbour" at No. 10, and "What Kind of Fool" at No. 29. A different version of "Flowers in Our Hair" was released as a single (no chart position) under the band's own "Eden" label before they signed to Mercury and recorded this album.
In return for Julianne Regan helping out on backing vocals for The Mission's first studio album, God's Own Medicine , Wayne Hussey lent his backing vocals to the song "Shelter from the Rain". Hussey and his bandmate Simon Hinkler also produced "Lady Moonlight".
"She Moves Through the Fair" is the only non-All About Eve composition on the album, it being a traditional Irish folk song.
One of the B-sides to the single "What Kind of Fool" was "The Garden of Jane Delawney", originally by Trees.
All songs written and composed by Tim Bricheno, Andy Cousin and Julianne Regan except where noted.

All About Eve were an English rock band. The initial creative core consisted of Coventry-born Julianne Regan (Vocals), Huddersfield-born Tim Bricheno (Guitar) and Andy Cousin, with other members changing over the years. Their highest-charting UK single was "Martha's Harbour" (1988). The band was active from 1984 to 1993, then 1999 to 2004, achieving four UK Top-50 albums. The band had been recognised for their "unique, folk-rock-influenced take" on the gothic rock style, and Regan has been described as "certainly one of the more talented singers" of the scene in the late 1980s.
Jerry Wayne Hussey is an English musician who was born in Bristol, England. He is best known as the lead singer of the Mission, and the guitarist with the Sisters of Mercy.
JulianneRegan is an English/Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. She achieved success in the late 1980s and early 1990s having formed the band All About Eve. Her major role in the band was as lead singer and songwriter. AllMusic describes Regan as "certainly one of the more talented singers of the late eighties British goth rock scene".
Scarlet and Other Stories is the second studio album by All About Eve. It was held to be considerably darker both in tone and lyrics than their first album, All About Eve. The relationship between lead singer Julianne Regan and guitarist Tim Bricheno broke down during the album's recording and production, and Regan later said that she hadn't wept as much in her life as she had during the making of this album.
Keepsakes - A Collection is an anthology by All About Eve released on 13 March 2006. It is available either as a double CD or as a limited edition double CD and DVD set.
Fairy Light Nights is the collective term for a large number of acoustic gigs performed by All About Eve between January 2000 and February 2002. The name stems from the fact that fairy lights were hung from the music and microphone stands. Two live albums were released during this time, one as Fairy Light Nights in 2000 and Fairy Light Nights 2 a year later. These recordings were also later released as a double album, Acoustic Nights, in 2003.
Return to Eden, Vol. 1: The Early Recordings is a compilation by All About Eve released in early 2002 on their own JamTart label and widely sold at gigs at that time, though also it was available to buy in shops and online. It was the fourth album released since the band's reformation in 1999.
Cinemasonic is a live album by All About Eve. It was released both as a CD and as a DVD and is a recording of the band's gig on 31 May 2002 at the Shepherd's Bush Empire.
Winter Words - Hits & Rareties is a compilation album by All About Eve by their then-former record label Mercury with whom they had had an acrimonious split one year earlier.
The Garden of Jane Delawney is the debut album of British folk rock band Trees.
God's Own Medicine is the debut studio album by the English gothic rock band The Mission. It was released in November 1986 under Mercury Records. The original LP version contains 10 songs. The CD and cassette versions had the songs "Blood Brother" and "Island in the Stream" added. Both had previously appeared on the "III" single.
Children is the second studio album by the English gothic rock band the Mission, released on 20 February 1988 by Mercury Records. Two singles were released from the album, "Tower of Strength" and "Beyond the Pale". A third single, "Kingdom Come", was scheduled but appeared only as a promotional single.
Andrew Cousin is an English bassist and radio presenter from Huddersfield in England. He is principally known for being the bassist of All About Eve: he has also played for The Mission. Since 2016 he presents the Andy Cousin show on Deal Radio.
God Is a Bullet is the ninth studio album by The Mission. It was released at the end of April 2007 by SPV Records in Germany and Cooking Vinyl in the UK. The album features guest appearances by Julianne Regan, Tim Bricheno and Simon Hinkler. It was preceded by the single "Keep It in the Family" which was followed by "Blush". "Running with Scissors" reuses the music Wayne Hussey composed for Atsushi Sakurai's 2004 song "Sacrifice".
"Martha's Harbour" is a song by English rock band All About Eve. The acoustic ballad reached No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart and helped the group's self-titled debut album reach No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. The song features only Julianne Regan's voice, acoustic guitars played by Tim Bricheno, and sound effects of ocean waves.
The Mission are an English gothic rock band formed in 1986. Aside from Hussey, the lineup has changed several times during the years and the band has been on hiatus twice.

"Martian Man" is a song written by Lynsey de Paul that was destined to be a track on her 1976 album Before You Go Tonight, but was shelved as part of a legal dispute with former manager Don Arden.
Another Fall from Grace is the eleventh studio album by The Mission released on 30 September 2016. Wayne Hussey has described the album as a lost link between The Sisters of Mercy's First and Last and Always album and The Mission's own first album, God's Own Medicine. He attributes this in part to his use of the 12-string guitar which he fell out of favour with after God's Own Medicine was released.
"Butterfly on a Wheel" is a song released by English gothic rock band the Mission in January 1990. It was the first of three singles to be released from their third studio album, Carved in Sand (1990). It peaked at No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 50 in Ireland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, as well as on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, where it reached number 23.
