Malaysia Swimming Federation (Malay : Persekutuan Renang Malaysia) is the national governing body of swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming, diving and open water in Malaysia. Founded as the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM) (Malay : Persatuan Renang Amatur Malaysia), the body adopted its current name in July 2020. [1] It is charged with selecting Malaysia Olympic Swimming team and any other teams which officially represent Malaysia, as well as the overall organization and operation of the sport within the country. The national headquarters is located at the National Aquatic Centre, National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water. Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. The French Swimming Federation is a French law association of 1901, founded in February 1919, grouping the sports swimming clubs, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, diving and French water polo, which organizes the national competitions and the selection of French teams. In 2017, the Federation has 316,905 members. The FFN is a member of the European Swimming League (LEN) and the International Swimming Federation (Fina). Founded in 1939 as the Singapore Amateur Swimming Association (SASA), the body adopted its current name in 2002. It has been a member of FINA since 1939, and is one of 43 members of the Asia Swimming Federation.

Malaysia at the 2016 Summer Olympics Sporting event delegation

Malaysia competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's fifteenth appearance at the Olympics, although it had previously competed in two other editions under the name Malaya.
