The 75th American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards are to be presented on January 18, 2025, at the Royce Hall in Los Angeles, honoring the best editors in film and television of 2024. The nominees were announced on December 11, 2024. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] To be eligible, movies had to have been released in theaters during the 2024 calendar year, and TV shows had to have been aired between January 1 and November 1, of that same year. [6]
On October 28, 2024 it was announced that Wicked director Jon M. Chu would receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award for distinguished achievement in the art and business of film, while film editors Maysie Hoy and Paul Hirsch would receive career achievement honors. [7] [8]

Founded in 1950, American Cinema Editors (ACE) is an honorary society of film editors who are voted in based on the qualities of professional achievements, their education of others, and their dedication to editing. Members use the post-nominal letters "ACE". The organization's "Eddie Awards" are routinely covered in trade magazines such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. The society is not an industry union, such as the I.A.T.S.E., to which an editor might also belong. The current president of ACE is Kevin Tent, who was elected in 2020.

He is known as the director of the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and the musical fantasy Wicked (2024), the former being one of the first films by a major Hollywood studio to feature a majority cast of Asian descent. He has also directed the 2021 musical In the Heights.
