American Idol concert chronology

The American Idols Live! Tour 2010 was a summer concert tour in the United States and Canada that featured the Top 10 contestants of the ninth season of American Idol . The 44 date tour started in Auburn Hills and ended in Indianapolis. [1] [2]

Contents

The tour was sponsored by M&M's Pretzel Chocolate Candies. [3] The tour was promoted by Live Nation for the first time after a seven-year stint with AEG Live. [4] The show was produced and directed by Raj Kapoor who was also responsible for the 2008 and 2009 Idols tour shows. [5]

"Breakaway" is a power ballad song recorded by American singer Kelly Clarkson. The song, written by Matthew Gerrard, Bridget Benenate, and Avril Lavigne, was originally intended for Lavigne's debut studio album, Let Go (2002). After being deemed unsuitable for the album, it was passed to Clarkson to be recorded as a soundtrack for the film The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004). Clarkson, who was finishing her second studio album at that time, recorded "Breakaway" to tide her fans over until the first single from her new album was released. However, the song's success prompted its inclusion on Clarkson's second album, while the record label decided to name the album after the song. "Breakaway" was first released as the first single from The Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack on July 19, 2004. In May 2006, "Breakaway" was reissued as the fifth and final single from the album of the same name.

"It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing" is a song recorded by Canadian singer Shania Twain. It was written by Twain and her then-husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange. It was released on February 9, 2004, as the eighth and final single from her fourth studio album Up!. Disparate to the remainder of Up!, "It Only Hurts when I'm Breathing" is a ballad that Twain labeled to be the sole heartbreak song on the album. Musically, it lies within the country pop genre while its lyrics speak of misery. The song was not included in any of Twain's tours, but she performed the song for the Up! Live in Chicago video special in 2003. The performance was also used as a promotional music video for the single.

The ninth season of American Idol premiered on Fox on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, and concluded on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Randy Jackson returned as judges and were joined by Ellen DeGeneres, who was brought on as a replacement for Paula Abdul after a series of guest judges filled in during the auditions. Idol Gives Back also returned on April 21, 2010. The top 24 semifinal format used in the fourth through seventh seasons also returned this season. Cowell, DioGuardi, and DeGeneres all left the show after this season, although only Cowell's departure was announced in advance.

Michael Lynche is the self-titled debut album of R&B artist Michael Lynche. It was released by independent label Big3 Records on August 14, 2012, two years after Lynche placed fourth on the ninth season of American Idol. Lynche holds co-writing credits on all of its original songs. He collaborated with songwriters Charlie Brown, Rob Chiarelli, Maria Christensen Gharah Degeddingseze, David Glass, Jamie Jones, D'myreo Mitchell, Monte Neuble, Jason Pennock, Wayne Rodrigues, Tim Stewart, Ryan Tedder, and Ronnie Walton. Lynche also served as a producer on the album, along with Chiarelli, Degeddingseze, Jones, Mitchell, Neuble, Pennock, Rodrigues, Stewart, Bill Edwards, and Preach. In addition to twelve original songs, the album includes a cover of "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush - a song that Lynche had performed while competing on American Idol.

The American Idols Live! Tour 2015 was a summer concert tour in the United States that featured the Top 5 contestants of the fourteenth season of American Idol. The tour began on July 7, 2015, in Clearwater, Florida and ended on August 28, 2015, in Riverside, California. Like the previous tour, the size of venues were smaller and for the first time the tour featured the Top 5 instead of the usual Top 10. After not having a live band for the 2014 tour, there was one for this tour. This was also the final Idol tour when the show aired on Fox as the 2016 tour was canceled. The tour was revived in 2018.
