Amir Hamza Hotak (born 15 August 1991) is an Afghan cricketer who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. An all-rounder, Hotak bats right-handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. [1]
Hotak was part of the Afghanistan Under-19 team which took part in the 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. His only appearance in that tournament came against the Papua New Guinea Under-19s. [2] He later made his first-class debut against Canada in the 2011-13 ICC Intercontinental Cup. [3] Hotak later made his One Day International debut in Afghanistan's first One Day International against a Full Member Test-playing nation, when they played Pakistan at Sharjah in February 2012. Batting at number ten, Hotak was dismissed for a six ball duck by Wahab Riaz in Afghanistan's innings of 195, while in Pakistan's innings he bowled four wicketless overs, conceding 22 runs. Pakistan won the encounter by 7 wickets. [4]
He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, finishing with 67 dismissals in ten matches. [5]
In September 2018, he was named in Kandahar's squad in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament. [6]
In May 2018, he was named in Afghanistan's squad for their inaugural Test match, played against India, but he was not selected in the final eleven that played the match. [7] [8] In November 2019, he was again named in Afghanistan's Test squad, this time for the one-off match against the West Indies. [9] He made his Test debut for Afghanistan, against the West Indies, on 27 November 2019. [10] In the match, he became the first bowler for Afghanistan to take a five-wicket haul on debut in Tests. [11]

Hashmatullah Shahidi is an Afghan cricketer and currently the captain of Afghanistan national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Test cricket. He made his ODI debut for Afghanistan against Kenya in October 2013. Shahidi was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first ever Test match, against India, in June 2018. He became the first Afghan player to score a test double hundred when he scored 200 not out against Zimbabwe on 11 March 2021.
Hasan Ali is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the national team in all formats. He made his first-class debut for Sialkot in October 2013. He made his international debut for Pakistan in August 2016 in a One Day International (ODI) match. The following summer, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan went on to win the tournament with Ali named player of the tournament after taking thirteen wickets, and took the final wicket of Jasprit Bumrah. He became the quickest bowler for Pakistan to take 50 wickets in ODIs. In August 2018, he was one of thirty-three players to be awarded a central contract for the 2018–19 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Hazratullah Zazai is an Afghan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in December 2016. In February 2019, he scored an unbeaten 162 runs off 62 balls against Ireland, which is the highest individual score by an Afghan batsman in a Twenty20 International.
Nijat Masood is an Afghan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in June 2022.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani international cricketer who is the current captain of the Pakistan national cricket team in the T20I format. He captains the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. Under his leadership, Lahore Qalandars won their first PSL title in the 2022 season and again went on to win the 2023 season, becoming the first team in PSL history to successfully defend their title. He is the first Pakistani to win the Garfield Sobers trophy.

Asif Musazai is an Afghan cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Band-e-Amir Region in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament on 7 November 2017. In May 2018, during the final of the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, he scored a century in the first innings for Band-e-Amir Region against Amo Region. He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 October 2019, for Speen Ghar Tigers in the 2019 Shpageeza Cricket League.

It was the first Test match that Afghanistan played against the West Indies. The two teams had played each other ten times before, with the majority of matches in the Caribbean, with this being Afghanistan's fourth Test match. All the matches were played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
