The band is known for their dedicated lyrical and musical styles inspired by Egyptology and works of H.P. Lovecraft. Since its formation, the band has released nine studio albums, two compilations, three extended plays, two demos, three singles, and five music videos. Their latest studio album, Vile Nilotic Rites, was released on November 1, 2019, through Nuclear Blast.

Demigod is the seventh studio album by Polish extreme metal band Behemoth. The album was recorded during May and July in 2004 at the Hendrix Studios and was released in October 2004. Daniel Bergstrand mixed the record at the Dug out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden during July and August in 2004. The record was then mastered at the Cutting Room in Stockholm, Sweden in August 2004.

This is the first Nile album to feature George Kollias on drums, replacing Tony Laureano. This album marks Nile's last record released by Relapse. The liner notes detail the theme and writing/recording process of each song. A music video for "Sacrifice Unto Sebek" was produced. It is also the first Nile album produced by Neil Kernon.

It is the only album to feature Tony Laureano on drums. In addition to being Nile's longest studio album, the title track is the band's longest song ever made at over 18 minutes in length.
Black Seeds of Vengeance is the second album by American technical death metal band Nile, released on September 5, 2000 through Relapse Records. It was the first album in Nile's discography to mark a more complex musical direction, as well as feature extensive liner notes in the booklet, written by Karl Sanders to explain the concept and themes behind each song. It also was the band's first album recorded with vocalist/guitarist Dallas Toler-Wade, and features Derek Roddy as a session drummer, temporarily replacing previous drummer Pete Hammoura who left the band due to injuries sustained while touring. Bassist Chief Spires left shortly after touring for the album.
Dopethrone is a metal album by the British band Electric Wizard. It was released in 2000 by Rise Above Records. Following the release and tour of their previous studio album Come My Fanatics... the group was asked by Rise Above owner Lee Dorian to create a follow-up. Jus Oborn of the group felt the group was going through drug issues and other problems leading to their Dopethrone being a "difficult process to make". The group would enter jam sessions entered Chuckalumba Studios in May 2000 with only three tracks written: "Dopethrone", "Funeralopolis" and "We Hate You..." The album was recorded in three days with members of the group disagreeing during the mixing sessions on how it should sound.

Ithyphallic is the fifth studio album by American technical death metal band Nile. It was released on July 17, 2007 through Nuclear Blast, in both standard and digipak formats. It is the band's first album released on Nuclear Blast, since signing with them in May 2006. It is also the band's only album since Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka not to feature notes explaining the context of the lyrics. 1,000 limited edition copies of the album were released in a pyramid-shaped box containing the disc, several images, a certificate of ownership and a scroll containing the lyrics and liner notes from the album. The cover art of this album depicts a statue of the god of fertility "Min", being erected by Egyptian slaves. The title means "Erected Phallus" in ancient Greek.

The music is a full length exploration of the atmospheric interludes heard on Nile's previous albums, and still draws on ancient Iraqi themes for inspiration. Sanders also drew inspiration from other types of music such as Tibetan, Indian and Arabic.

He has also played live with a number of bands to fill in for missing guitarists or bassists over the years.
