Their latest studio album, Vile Nilotic Rites, was released on November 1, 2019, through Nuclear Blast.
Melodic death metal is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal. The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Pioneered by the English heavy metal band Carcass with their 1993 album Heartwork, melodic death metal developed further in Sweden in the mid-1990s. The Swedish death metal scene did much to popularise the style, soon centering in the "Gothenburg metal" scene. At the Gates' Slaughter of the Soul, Dark Tranquility's The Gallery, and In Flames' The Jester Race, all released in the mid-1990s, were highly influential albums in melodic death metal, with At the Gates and In Flames being the two most common influences on North American 2000s heavy metal bands. Many American heavy metal bands emulated At the Gates' sound, resulting in the usage of the phrase "At the Gates worship".

This is the first Nile album to feature George Kollias on drums, replacing Tony Laureano. This album marks Nile's last record released by Relapse. The liner notes detail the theme and writing/recording process of each song. A music video for "Sacrifice Unto Sebek" was produced. It is also the first Nile album produced by Neil Kernon.
In Their Darkened Shrines is the third studio album by American death metal band Nile. It was released on August 20, 2002 through Relapse Records. It is the only album to feature Tony Laureano on drums. In addition to being Nile's longest studio album, the title track is the band's longest song ever made at over 18 minutes in length.
Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka is the debut studio album by American death metal band Nile. The album was released on April 28, 1998, through Relapse Records. The album is considered to be their breakthrough record. Unique in the discography, the songs on this album are notably shorter in length than those featured on subsequent Nile albums. Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka is the only release besides Ithyphallic to not include Karl Sanders's liner notes explaining each song.

The music is a full length exploration of the atmospheric interludes heard on Nile's previous albums, and still draws on ancient Babylonia and Lovecraftian themes for inspiration. The album was well received by metal and non-metal listeners alike.
In The Beginning is a compilation by death metal band Nile, released in 2000 through Relapse Records. The compilation combines their two EPs Festivals of Atonement and Ramses Bringer of War in their entirety, previously released on February 10, 1995, and November 19, 1996, respectively. Both EPs were released on the band's own label Anubis Records.
Ithyphallic is the fifth studio album by American technical death metal band Nile. It was released on July 17, 2007 through Nuclear Blast, in both standard and digipak formats. It is the band's first album released on Nuclear Blast, since signing with them in May 2006. It is also the band's only album since Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka not to feature notes explaining the context of the lyrics. 1,000 limited edition copies of the album were released in a pyramid-shaped box containing the disc, several images, a certificate of ownership and a scroll containing the lyrics and liner notes from the album. The cover art of this album depicts a statue of the god of fertility "Min", being erected by Egyptian slaves. The title means "Erected Phallus" in ancient Greek.

Whitechapel is an American deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee. The band is named after the Whitechapel district in East London, England, where Jack the Ripper committed a series of murders. The group comprises vocalist Phil Bozeman, lead guitarist Ben Savage, rhythm guitarist Alex Wade, bassist Gabe Crisp and third guitarist Zach Householder. Founded in 2006 by Bozeman and Savage, the band has released eight studio albums and fourteen music videos, and are currently signed to Metal Blade Records. Whitechapel's 2010 album A New Era of Corruption, sold around 10,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release and debuted at position No. 43 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's self-titled fourth album was released in 2012 and debuted at No. 47 on the Billboard 200, selling roughly 9,200 copies in its first week. In 2014 the band released their fifth full-length album, Our Endless War to generally positive reviews. The album sold roughly 16,000 copies in its first week and debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200. They released their sixth full-length album Mark of the Blade in 2016 to greater critical acclaim, selling roughly 8,000 copies in the first week of its release. Its current line-up consists of Sahil "The Demonstealer" Makhija on vocals and rhythm guitar and Virendra "Viru" Kaith on drums. Invictus is the debut solo effort from longtime Nile drummer-percussionist George Kollias. The self-produced record was released in 2015 through Season of Mist. Whilst playing the bulk of the instruments himself, he included various guest cameos by popular underground metal artists, such as Nile bandmates Dallas Toler-Wade and Karl Sanders, as well as Firewind guitarist/keyboardist Bob Katsionis.
Vile Nilotic Rites is the ninth studio album by American technical death metal band Nile, released through Nuclear Blast on November 1, 2019. It is the band's only album with bassist/vocalist Brad Parris and first with guitarist/vocalist Brian Kingsland, the latter of whom replaced Dallas Toler-Wade in 2017. Two singles, "Long Shadows of Dread" and the title track, were released from the album. Nile toured North America throughout November and December 2019 in support of the record.
