The Malaysian Islamic Party,also known as the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party or its Jawi-based acronym PAS,is an Islamist political party in Malaysia. Ideologically focused on Islamic fundamentalism,PAS's electoral base is largely centered around Peninsular Malaysia's rural and eastern coasts and conservative northern,particularly in the states of Kelantan,Terengganu,Perlis,&Kedah. Dato' Nasarudin Hashim is a Malaysian politician. He is the former one-term Member of Parliament (MP) of Malaysia for Parit constituency in Perak from 2004 to 2008. Nasarudin was also the Perak State Legislative Assemblyman for the Bota constituency having held the office for two terms between 2008 and 2013. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018,five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013.
A by-election was held for the Kelantan State Assembly seat of Pengkalan Kubor on 25 September 2014 following the nomination day on 13 September 2014. The seat fell vacant after the death of the incumbent three-term assemblyman,Noor Zahidi Omar from liver cancer in Guangzhou,China on 20 August 2014. Zahidi was an assemblyman from the United Malays National Organisation,a component party of the opposition Barisan Nasional coalition. In the 2013 general election,he defeated Pakatan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Saharun Ibrahim and an independent candidate by 1,736 votes.

She is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. She has served as the 2nd Deputy Women Chief of BERSATU since August 2020 and the Women Youth Chief of the UMNO from October 2013 to June 2018. After the defeat of BN to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition in the 2018 general election,she resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019. She is also the second female PAC chairperson after Noraini Ahmad in Malaysian history.

Hassan bin Abdul Karim is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Gudang since May 2018. He served as Chairman of the Federal-State Relations Select Committee from December 2018 to November 2022. After the defeat of BN to PH in 2018 general election,he resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019.
The 2021 Malacca state election,formally the 15th Malacca state election,took place on 20 November 2021. This election was to elect 28 members of the 15th Malacca State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 4 October 2021.
The 2023 Kemaman by-election was a by-election that was held on Saturday,2 December 2023 for the Dewan Rakyat seat of Kemaman. It was called following the disqualification of incumbent,Che Alias Hamid on 26 September 2023.
