The Kelantan State Legislative Assembly (Malay : Dewan Negeri Kelantan) is the unicameral state legislature of the Malaysian state of Kelantan. It consists of 45 members representing single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart.
The State Legislative Assembly convenes at the Kota Darul Naim in the state capital, Kota Bharu.
Out of the 45 seats, 43 are held by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ruling coalition after the 2023 state election. Within the coalition, the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) holds 37 seats while the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) holds 6 seats. The PN coalition commands a two-thirds supermajority in the assembly.
Meanwhile, Pakatan Harapan (PH) - National Trust Party (AMANAH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) - United Malays National Organization (UMNO) hold only 1 seat each.

The Kelantan State Legislative Assembly enacts legislation concerning matters in the State List and Joint List defined in the Federal Constitution. The Speaker presides over debates in the Assembly.
The leader of the majority party or coalition in the Assembly is appointed Menteri Besar by the Sultan of Kelantan. The person who assumes the role of Menteri Besar appoints the state's executive council, or EXCO (Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan), drawing from members of the Assembly.

The 2023 Kelantan state election witnessed 37 governmental seats and 8 non-governmental seats filled the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly. The government side has 41 safe seats and 1 fairly safe seats, while the non-government side has a fairly safe seat.

He served as Member of the Kelantan State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR), Gagasan Sejahtera (GS) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administrations under former Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob from May 2013 to his promotion to the Menteri Besarship in August 2023 as well as Speaker of the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly from April 2008 to June 2013. He is a member and State Information Chief of Kelantan of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN and formerly GS, PR, Barisan Alternatif (BA) and Angkatan Perpaduan Ummah (APU) coalitions.

He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He is the Division Chief of BERSATU of Padang Besar. He was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was the Branch Deputy Head of Public Housing (RPA) of UMNO of Padang Besar, Branch Youth Head of RPA of UMNO Padang Besar, Division Member of the Information Committee of UMNO of Padang Besar. He is also presently one of the only two BERSATU Perlis EXCO Members along with Megat Hashirat Hassan.

This political phenomenon involves Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and its voters, who mainly originate from the conservative northeastern and northwestern parts of Peninsular Malaysia.
