Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi bin Manjun (born 2 June 1950) is a Malaysian politician,lawyer and public administrator who has served as the State Minister of Finance of Sabah since January 2023 and State Minister of Local Government and Housing of Sabah from September 2020 to January 2023 in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state administration under Chief Minister Hajiji Noor and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Karanaan since March 2004. He was the state COVID-19 spokesman and coordinating minister of the GRS state government of Sabah. During the COVID-19 pandemic,he spoke frequently on the response of Sabah towards the pandemic. On 13 January 2023,Joachim Gunsalam took over the duties from him. [2] [3] He is a member of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN),a component party of the GRS coalition. He has also served as the Deputy President of GAGASAN since February 2023. He also served as the State Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party of Sabah from April 2019 to his resignation from the party in December 2022 and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) from August 2020 to January 2021. Masidi obtained a degree of Bachelor of Laws from the University of London in 1977 and became Barrister-at-Law with Honours at Lincoln's Inn,London in 1979.
Masidi entered the State Public Service in 1977 as a legal adviser and prosecutor at the Forestry Department. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in 1979,the same year he was appointed as Tuaran District Officer. He was transferred to Sandakan in the similar position in 1982 before being promoted as Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture,Youth and Sports in 1984. In 1987,he was made a Senior State Counsel in the State Attorney-General's Chambers. He left the State Public Service in 1989 to join private sector.
Masidi served as Chairman of Institute of Development Studies of Sabah from 1994 to 2004 and member of board of directors of Sabah Development Bank during that time. [4] He held directorship in various companies including Chase Perdana Berhad,Sitt Tatt Berhad and Bank Rakyat. He is Chairman of Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation since 24 July 2020. [6]
Masidi joined politics in 2004 as he was nominated by United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) as candidate for Karanaan state constituency. He subsequently won the election and holds the seat for four consecutive terms. He is currently serving the fifth term in Karanaan following his victory in the 16th state election under the banner of Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU).
He rose as Minister of State for Youth and Sports in 2004. He then became Minister of State for Tourism,Culture and Environment from 2006 to 2018 and Minister of State charged with education during that time. He also served as Deputy Chief Minister post 14th general election for two days. He left UMNO in 2018 to join BERSATU and became the latter's state liaison deputy chairman subsequently.

The United Sabah Party is a political party of Sabah. The PBS was founded by Joseph Pairin Kitingan in 1985 and it is Sabah's oldest local party. In August 2020,PBS confirmed that they would be using their own logo and flag until Sabah's local coalition is established under Registrar of Societies (RoS). In 2022,Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is the only Sabah's local coalition that has been successfully registered under the Registrar of Societies (RoS) making PBS interested in using the coalition's logo and becoming part of the coalition's component.

Ronald Kiandee is a Malaysian politician. A member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and its Vice President since August 2020 and 2nd State Chairman of Sabah since December 2022,he has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beluran since November 1999. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021. He was reappointed to the same post for a second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 until the dissolution of the BN government in November 2022,when BN lost its reelection campaign in the 2022 general election. Prior to serving in the Cabinet,Kiandee was the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration from 2018 to 2019 and Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat I in the BN administration from 2008 to 2018. He is presently the sole MP of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party of Sabah and one of the only two Christian MPs of PN alongside Ali Biju.
Datuk Seri Panglima Md Salleh bin Md Said,commonly known as Salleh Said Keruak,is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly for Usukan from February 1994 to March 2004,from May 2013 to May 2018 and again since September 2020. He served as the Minister of Communications and Multimedia in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak from July 2015 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018,9th chief minister of Sabah from December 1994 to May 1996,Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly from December 2010 to July 2015,Senator from July 2015 to July 2018 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Belud from April 1995 to March 2008. He is also the son of Mohammad Said Keruak,the 4th chief minister of Sabah and the 7th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah as well as the cousin of Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis,the Kota Belud MP.
Datuk Seri Panglima Hajah Azizah binti Mohd Dun is a Malaysian politician who served as Chairperson of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from May 2020 to December 2022 and of the Special Select Committee on Fundamental Liberty and Constitutional Rights from November 2021 to November 2022,Deputy Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) from August 2020 to October 2022,the Deputy Minister of Women,Family and Community Development and Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Najib Razak and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as well as former Ministers Rohani Abdul Karim and Ong Ka Ting from May 2013 to May 2018 and from March 2004 to March 2008 respectively. She also served as the State Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs of Sabah in the BN state administration under former Chief Minister Musa Aman from 2008 to 2013. In addition,she served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort from March 2004 to March 2008 and again from May 2013 to November 2022 as well as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Klias from March 2008 to May 2013. She is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN),a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS),was a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) as well as formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalitions and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. She left UMNO to be an independent in 2018 and later joined BERSATU in 2019 until 2022,and become official member of GAGASAN in 2023 after she left BERSATU in December 2022. She officially appointed a Women Chief of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) since 2023 after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of GRS in March 2023.

Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 16th Chief Minister of Sabah since 2020 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sulaman since 1990. He is also the first official chairman of political coalition party in Sabah,the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Party and 3rd President of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN).
Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Joachim Gunsalam is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Chief Minister II and State Minister of Housing and Local Government of Sabah since January 2023 as well as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kundasang since March 2004. He is a member of the United Sabah Party (PBS),a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions. He has served as the Acting President of PBS since June 2024 and Deputy President of PBS for the Non-Muslim bumiputera quota since June 2022. He previosuly served as Vice President of PBS for the non-Muslim bumiputera quota from 2006 to 2022.

United Malays National Organisation of Sabah,also abbreviated as Sabah UMNO,is a branch of the United Malays National Organisation in Sabah,Malaysia. Sabah UMNO supported and was part of the federal government under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Sabah UMNO also had one elected representatives holding a deputy ministerial positions respectively in the Anwar Ibrahim cabinet.
The 2023 Sabah political crisis or widely reported on local media as Langkah Kinabalu or the Kinabalu Move,began on 6 January 2023,when the state government of Sabah led by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) collapsed when its coalition party Barisan Nasional (BN) withdrew its support. The Leader of UMNO Sabah,a component party of BN,Bung Moktar Radin,Kinabatangan Member of Parliament (MP) and Lamag Assemblyman,cited a lack of confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister of Sabah Hajiji Noor in the withdrawal. UMNO Sabah want to change support from supporting GRS coalition to supporting the WARISAN Plus coalition. On 9 January,both Malaysian leaders,prime minister Anwar Ibrahim and deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi travelled to Kota Kinabalu to meet with Sabah political leaders. This crisis resulted in the approval of the Anti-Switching Parties Law in Sabah (approved in 25 May 2023).
In Malaysian politics,a frog refers to an act where a politician crosses the bench from one party to another (changing support). This term was first coined in during the 1994 Sabah state elections after United Sabah Party losing its majority even the party won the state elections. Despite its usage nationwide,it is more familiar within the state of Sabah. Since May 25,2023,nine (9) states of Malaysia has approved the Parties hopping prevention law also known as the "Anti-Switching Parties Law" or "Anti-Hopping Parties Law" for both Parliament and State legislative assembly including Sabah and Sarawak.
