Mohamad Nizar bin Mohamad Najib (born 11 May 1978) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Pahang State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail since December 2022 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Peramu Jaya since November 2022. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. [1] He is also the son of Najib Razak, the 6th and former Prime Minister.
He was UMNO Youth Chief of Jalan Daud Branch, Kampung Baru zone in Titiwangsa. [2]
Nizar is the UMNO Youth Chief of Pekan since 2018. [3]
He has been coined as a potential Barisan Nasional candidate of the 2020 Chini by-election, [4] before the party decided to nominate Mohd Sharim Md Zain. In the 2022 Malaysian general election, after speculation that Nizar might be contesting his first election in Pekan in place of his father, who has recently sentenced to jail, he instead were selected by his party to contest the state seat of Peramu Jaya in the 2022 Pahang state election. [5] [6] He won the seat, defeating 3 other candidates with a majority of 7,823 votes.
In the Pahang coalition government between BN and Pakatan Harapan after the 2022 election, Nizar was appointed state EXCO member under portfolio of investment, industries, science, technology and innovation. [7]
Nizar is the son of the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with his first wife, Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar. He is the eldest of five siblings, including the two children of Najib's second wife Rosmah Mansor. His younger brother Nazifuddin Najib is a businessman and secretary-general of Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) since 2018.
He has worked as a consultant and accountant, residing in Jalan Maktab, Kuala Lumpur. He is married to Nur Sharmila Shaheen, the daughter of Wanita UMNO exco member Maznah Hamid in 2004, with five children. [8]
On 18 November 2020, Nizar was ordered to pay RM13.16 million in unpaid taxes from 2011 to the Malaysia Inland Revenue Board by the Shah Alam High Court. [9]

Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Defence since December 2023 and previously served as the Minister of Higher Education for the second term from December 2022 to December 2023 in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He had previously served as Deputy Minister of Works, Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operatives Development and his first term as Minister of Higher Education in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from 1999 to 2013. Additionally, he served as the 15th Menteri Besar of Johor after he contested and became a Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Permas from May 2013 to May 2018. Throughout his political career, he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for 3 different Johorean federal constituencies, which are Johor Bahru from October 1990 to March 2004, Pasir Gudang from March 2004 to May 2013 and currently for Kota Tinggi since November 2022. He is a member and the Division Chief of Pasir Gudang of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has served as a Vice President of UMNO since June 2018 and had also served as the State Chairman of UMNO of Johor from January to December 2023.
Zulhasnan bin Rafique is a Malaysian politician and diplomat. He is the former Minister of Federal Territories, former Member of Parliament of Malaysia for Wangsa Maju and Setiawangsa constituencies in Kuala Lumpur and a supreme council member in the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the largest component party of the previously ruling coalition, Barisan Nasional (BN).
Dato' Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar bin Jamaluddin is a Malaysian politician and engineer who has served as a member of the Perak State Executive Council since November 2022 under Saarani Mohamad and from May 2018 to March 2020 under Ahmad Faizal Azumu, and as a member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly for Sungai Rapat since May 2018. Reezal Merican bin Naina Merican is a Malaysian politician and banker who has served as 9th chairman of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) since May 2023 and Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bertam since August 2023. He served as the minister of housing and local government in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022, the minister of youth and sports in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 and the member of parliament (MP) for Kepala Batas from the retirement of 5th and former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as the MP from politics in May 2013 to his electoral defeat in November 2022. Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 14th Menteri Besar of Pahang since May 2018 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jelai since March 2004. He served as Member of the Pahang State Executive Council (EXCO) from March 2008 to May 2018. He is a member and State Chairman of Pahang of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has also served as the Vice President of UMNO since March 2023.
A by-election was held on 4 July 2020 for the seat of Chini in the Pahang State Legislative Assembly. The seat became vacant following the death of the incumbent Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) of Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, Abu Bakar Harun on 7 May 2020 who had held the seat since 2004. Mohd Sharim Md Zain from BN won the by-election with a 12,650 majority to retain the seat again.
Abdul Rahman bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong since December 2023 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lipis since May 2013.
