The 2022 Pahang state election, formally the 15th Pahang state election, took place on 19 November 2022. [1] This election was to elect 42 members of the 15th Pahang State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 14 October 2022. [2] The election for the Tioman (state constituency) was delayed to 7 December following the death of the Perikatan candidate.

Contents

The election resulted in a hung parliament with Perikatan Nasional emerging as the largest bloc, one seat ahead of the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition government.

On 27 November, one week after the election, it was announced that Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail would be reappointed as Menteri Besar at the head of a coalition government consisting of Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.

He has also served as Member of the Supreme Council of BERSATU since January 2024 and is the State Secretary of PN of Selangor. He also served as the Deputy Youth Chief of PKR from August 2014 to November 2018 and Deputy Division Chief of PKR of Permatang Pauh.

State elections were held in all states and territories in Malaysia except Sarawak on 9 May 2018, alongside general elections. Pakatan Harapan alliance received over 50% of the vote across the 12 states and territories where elections took place and won the most seats. They emerged as the largest faction in all states and territories except Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis and Pahang.

The National Alliance is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party, Malaysian Islamic Party, Malaysian People's Movement Party and Sabah Progressive Party. This coalition was preceded by the Malaysian Party Alliance Association, also known as the Persatuan Perikatan Parti Malaysia (PPPM). It is the second largest political coalition in Dewan Rakyat with 74 seats after Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 81 seats; dubbed as the "Green Wave".

Dato' Sri Ikmal Hisham Bin Abdul Aziz is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanah Merah since May 2013. After the defeat of BN to PH in 2018 general election, he resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019.

Mohd Rafiq bin Naizamohideen is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Malacca State Executive Council (EXCO) for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali from March 2020 to November 2021 and for the first term in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under former Chief Minister Adly Zahari from May 2018 to the collapse of the PH state administration in March 2020 as well as Member of the Malacca State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Paya Rumput from May 2018 to November 2021. He is also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He was a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition and previously PH coalition. He served as the Vice President of BERSATU from August 2020 to his resignation in October 2022, State Chairman of PN and BERSATU of Melaka from January 2021 to his resignations in November 2021.

The 2021 Malacca state election, formally the 15th Malacca state election, took place on 20 November 2021. This election was to elect 28 members of the 15th Malacca State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 4 October 2021.

Ahmad Tarmizi bin Sulaiman is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sik since May 2018. He was Deputy President of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM). He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN), formerly Gagasan Sejahtera (GS) and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions.

The 2022 Perlis state election, formally the 15th Perlis state election, took place on 19 November 2022. This election was to elect 15 members of the 15th Perlis State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 14 October 2022.

The 2022 Perak state election, formally the 15th Perak state election, took place on 19 November 2022. This election was to elect 59 members of the 15th Perak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 17 October 2022.

Khlir bin Mohd Nor is a Malaysian politician and former military officer who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketereh since November 2022. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
