Mohd Sharkar bin Shamsudin (born 25 July 1962) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Speaker of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly since December 2022. [1] He served as Member of the Pahang State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under Menteris Besar Adnan Yaakob and Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail from April 2004 to November 2022 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lanchang from November 1999 to November 2022. [2] He is also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He is also a member of the Supreme Council of UMNO.
He firstly contested and won the Lanchang state seat in the 1999 Pahang state election. He was reelected as the Lanchang MLA for four times in the 2004, 2008, 2013 and 2018 Pahang state elections. He also contested for Temerloh federal seat in the 2018 general election and lost. He was transferred from the Lanchang state seat to contest for the Temerloh seat in 2022 general election and lost again.

He was born and raised in Temerloh, Mohd Sharkar completed his secondary in Technical Institute Kuantan in 1979. He continued his Form Six at Yayasan Anda Akademik before he furthered his study in the USA. He graduated from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana, where he received a Bachelor's Science Degree in Business Administration in 1986. In June 2013, he was appointed as Chairman of Pahang State Tourism and Culture Committee.
Mohd Sharkar is married to Mustakizah Sulaiman and has four children.

Dato' Sri Azalina binti Othman Said is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak from July 2015 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018 and in the Anwar Ibrahim Cabinet since December 2022 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pengerang since March 2004. She served as the Special Advisor to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Law and Human Rights from September 2021 to her resignation in August 2022, Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat II from July 2020 to her resignation in August 2021, Minister of Tourism from March 2008 to April 2009 and the Minister of Youth and Sports from March 2004 to March 2008 in the BN administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib and Chairperson of the National Film Development Corporation from June 2015 to her ministerial appointment in July 2015. She created history by being the first female deputy speaker. Ahmad Husni bin Mohamad Hanadzlah is a former Second Minister of Finance of Malaysia. He was appointed on 10 April 2009 when Najib Razak became Prime Minister. Shamsul Anuar bin Nasarah is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail since December 2022 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lenggong since March 2008. He served as the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to his resignation in August 2021.
