Yang Berhormat Young Syefura Othman (born 9 November 1989), nicknamed Rara, [1] is a Malaysian politician and nurse who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bentong since November 2022. She served as Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ketari from May 2018 to November 2022. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party, a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. She has also served as Deputy Youth Chief of DAP since March 2022. Additionally, she is the first Bentong MP of the Malay ethnicity and the first female Malay MP of DAP in the Malaysian history. Young Syefura is a sixth of seven children. She idolises the Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh in politics.
On 10 November 2022 during her 33rd birthday, Young Syefura was confirmed to have suffered a miscarriage after eight weeks of pregnancy and was resting at home. She also revealed that she had initially wanted to announce her pregnancy after the 2022 general election with a photograph of her home pregnancy test. She also shared that her pregnancy had appeared to stall after six weeks. She then thanked those who have extended their messages of support to her. Upon hearing the news, her opponent, fellow candidate for the Bentong federal seat in the election and former Bentong MP Liow Tiong Lai from the opposing Barisan Nasional (BN) and the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) expressed his sadness and sent his best and sincerest wishes and care for Young Syefura to recuperate well. In response, Young Syefura thanked Liow and apologised for her absence in the PH and DAP operations room and being unable to meet him during the campaign trail and his visit to there as she was at home. The reported reason for her miscarriage was overwork. Despite being at home, her campaign carried on without her presence. [7] [8]

Bentong, the seat of Bentong District, is a town located in western Pahang, Malaysia, at the border with the state of Selangor in the west and the state of Negeri Sembilan in the south.
The People's Alliance was an informal Malaysian political coalition and successor to Barisan Alternatif (BA). The political coalition was formed by the People's Justice Party (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP), and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) on 1 April 2008, after the 12th Malaysian general election, having previously formed the Barisan Alternatif in the 10th general election. On 20 April 2010, the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) officially joined as a member of the Pakatan Rakyat after being expelled from Barisan Nasional, but quit the coalition on 6 May 2011. The DAP declared the coalition "dead" on 16 June 2015, citing the inability of the rest of the alliance to work with PAS, after PAS's congress passed the motion to sever ties with DAP without debate. It was succeeded by Pakatan Harapan and Gagasan Sejahtera.
Teo Nie Ching is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as the Deputy Minister of Communications under Minister Fahmi Fadzil since December 2023 and previously served as the Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, also under Minister Fahmi Fadzil from December 2022 to December 2023 in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. She had served as Deputy Minister of Education in the PH administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, former Minister Maszlee Malik and former Acting Minister Mahathir from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. She served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Serdang from March 2008 to May 2013 and then the MP for Kulai since May 2013. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH coalition. She has also served as the State Chairperson of DAP of Johor since October 2024, Women Chief of DAP since September 2023 and National Publicity Secretary of DAP since March 2022. She also served as International Secretary of DAP from November 2017 to March 2022, Assistant National Publicity Secretary of DAP and Assistant State Organising Secretary of DAP of Selangor from 2008 to 2011.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. Thomas Su Keong Siong is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as the Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ketari since November 2022. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kampar from May 2018 to November 2022, for Ipoh Timor from May 2013 to May 2018, Member of the Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state administration under former Menteri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin from March 2008 to the collapse of the PR state administration in February 2009 and Perak MLA for Pasir Pinji from March 2004 to May 2013. He is a member of Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly PR and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions. He is also a member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the DAP.

Tengku Zulpuri Shah bin Raja Puji is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tras since November 2022. He served as Deputy Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Xavier Jayakumar Arulanandam from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Raub from May 2018 to November 2022, State Leader of the Opposition of Pahang and the MLA for Mentakab from May 2013 to May 2018 and member of the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS). He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH coalition. He has served as the Deputy Secretary-General of DAP since March 2022 and is the State Deputy Chairman of Pahang of DAP. He also served as the National Vice Chairman of DAP from November 2017 to March 2022. In addition, he was the sole Malay MP of DAP from 2018 to 2022.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Saturday, 19 November 2022. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, is a Malaysian politician and medical doctor who has served as the Special Advisor to the Ministers of Health Zaliha Mustafa and Dzulkefly Ahmad since April 2023 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bandar Kuching since May 2018. A member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, he has served as Chair of the Health, Science and Innovation Select Committee since January 2021 and is a member of the Budget Select Committee. He has also served as the Youth Chief or known as the Chief of the Youth Wing namely Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY) since March 2022 and 5th Youth Chief of PH since July 2022. The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government. He created history as the first Deputy Speaker of non-Malay ethnicity.
