Dato Anyi Ngau (born 1959) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Baram since May 2013. He is a member of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP),a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions. He has also served as the Secretary General of PDP since June 2023.
In the 2013 general election,Anyi made his electoral debut after being nominated by BN to contest for the Baram federal seat. He won the seat and was elected into Parliament as the Baram MP for the first term after narrowly defeating his nephew Roland Engan of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and another independent candidate by a majority of only 194 votes. In the 2018 general election,despite rumours that a direct member of BN would be nominated instead of Anyi to defend the Baram seat,he was renominated by BN to do so. He defended it and was reelected as the Baram MP for the second term after defeating Roland of Pakatan Harapan (PH) again [2] [3] by a majority of 1,990 votes. [4]
On 9 March 2020,Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin offered PDP MP for Bintulu Tiong King Sing the appointment of the Deputy Minister of National Unity. However,Tiong declined it. [5] [6] There was a speculation that Muhyiddin would offer Anyi the appointment as Anyi was another PDP MP but this has never happened. [7] Muhyiddin instead offered Senator and Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Vice-President Ti Lian Ker the appointment and was accepted by Ti. [8] Instead,he was appointed Chairman of Malaysia Cocoa Board on 20 May 2020 replacing Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II and MP for Ranau Jonathan Yasin. [9] [10] He was additionally appointed Chairman of Malaysian Pepper Board on 1 July 2020. [11] [12]
In the 2022 general election,Anyi was nominated by GPS to defend the seat again. He defended the seat and was reelected as the Baram MP for the third term after defeating Roland of PH again and another independent candidate by a majority of 7,339 votes.
Anyi is of Kenyah descent and graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). [7]

Tiong King Sing JP is a Malaysian politician and businessman who has served as Minister of Tourism,Arts and Culture in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and the Special Envoy of the Prime Ministers Muhyiddin Yassin,Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Anwar to China since April 2020,Member of Parliament (MP) for Bintulu since November 1999 and Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Dudong since December 2021. He served as Special Envoy of the Prime Ministers Najib Razak and Mahathir Mohamad to East Asia from January 2014 to June 2018. He is a member of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP),a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has served as President of PDP since November 2017. In accordance with its expansion to West Malaysia in November 2017,the party was rebranded with its new name and logo from the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP),a former component party of the BN coalition. He served as the 3rd Chairman of the BN Backbenchers Club from April 2008 to June 2013. He also served as President of SPDP from May 2014 to November 2017 and Deputy President of SPDP from March 2012 to his promotion to the SPDP presidency in May 2014 and previously the Treasurer-General of SPDP. Following the collapse of the BN administration after the 2018 general election and in the aftermath,a meeting between all Sarawak-based BN component parties was held on 12 June 2018,PDP decided to leave the coalition with the other three parties to form a new Sarawak-based political coalition in the meeting,namely the GPS coalition.

Michael Teo Yu Keng is a Malaysian politician and gynaecologist who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Miri from May 2013 to November 2022. General elections were held in Malaysia on Saturday,19 November 2022. The prospect of snap elections had been considered high due to the political crisis that had been ongoing since 2020;political instability caused by coalition or party switching among members of Parliament,combined with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic,contributed to the resignation of two prime ministers and the collapse of each of their respective coalition governments since the 2018 general elections.
Takiyuddin bin Haji Hassan is a Malaysian politician and lawyer from the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Bharu since May 2013. He served as the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022,the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Parliament and Law in the PN administration under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021. In addition,he has served as the Secretary-General of PAS since June 2015 and Chief Whip of PN and PAS in the Dewan Rakyat and the only member of the Public Accounts Committee from PAS.
The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support,leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority,the collapse of two successive coalition governments,and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government.
The Muhyiddin cabinet was formed on 10 March 2020,nine days after Muhyiddin Yassin was appointed as the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia and dissolved 17 months and 6 days later on 16 August 2021,the day when Muhyiddin submitted his resignations as PM and of this cabinet. It was the 21st cabinet of Malaysia formed since independence. This cabinet was also known as the Perikatan Nasional Cabinet (PN-Cabinet) which combined 15 political parties from the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties,with Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties,Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties and United Sabah Party (PBS) as allied partners providing confidence and supply.
The special envoys of the prime minister of Malaysia are individuals,usually politicians,appointed with specific assignments to enhance the relationship between Malaysia with particular states or regions where Malaysia has considerable economic interests and cultural similarities. He is a member and State Chairman of Melaka of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA),a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as the Vice President of MCA since November 2018.
The Ismail Sabri cabinet was formed following the appointment of Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Prime Minister of Malaysia on 21 August 2021 and dissolved 15 months and 3 days later following the appointment of Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister on 24 November 2022. It was the 22nd cabinet of Malaysia formed since independence. Following the coalition's defeat in the 2018 general election,Barisan Nasional (BN) has formed its first cabinet.
