He is a member and Member of Central Working Committee of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a component party of the PN coalition. He was an independent and member,Member of the Supreme Council,Information Chief,Division Chairman of Ketereh of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. He also served as the Secretary-General of BN from March 2020 to January 2021. He joined UMNO in 1979 and was removed from UMNO in December 2022. He later joined PAS in March 2023. He was the president of Kelantan FA (Kafa) from 2009 until his resignation on 8 November 2016 but stay as its adviser. In 2018,he was nominated for the new FAM presidency role by Kuala Lumpur FA,reported in a Fox Sports Asia article. But he withdraw from the presidency race again.

She served as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Parliament and Law in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar from August 2021 to the collapse of BN administration in November 2022,Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 and the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture in the BN administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz from July 2015 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. She is a member and the Women Chief of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. She has previously served as the 2nd Vice Women Chief of BERSATU from August 2020 to October 2024 and the Women Youth Chief of UMNO from October 2013 to June 2018. She is also the second female PAC Chairperson after Noraini Ahmad in Malaysian history.

In AMANAH,he has served as a Vice-President since September 2021 and State Chairman of Malacca since August 2017. He was also the Treasurer-General of AMANAH prior to his promotion to the party vice presidency. He is also the sole Malacca AMANAH MLA.

He served as the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Kuala Nerus from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition and was an independent as well as member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a component party of the PN coalition. On 14 March 2022,Khairuddin left PAS effective immediately and later joined UMNO. He is also the Executive Secretary of the Ulama Council of UMNO.
Idris bin Ahmad is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan Serai since November 2022. He served as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022,Senator from June 2020 to his resignation in November 2022 and the MP for Bukit Gantang from May 2013 to May 2018. He is a member and Vice President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS),a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and formerly Gagasan Sejahtera (GS),Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions.
