Koh Tsu Koon is a Malaysian politician. He was the Chief Minister of Penang from 1990 to 2008, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanjong from 1982 to 1986 and was appointed as a Senator from 2009 to 2015. A year after resigning as Chief Minister of Penang, Koh was appointed Minister in the Prime Minister's Department by Prime Minister Najib Razak. He was famously known for contributing in the Sungai Pinang campaign where he took almost 10 years and failed to complete it.

He served as Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry in the PH administration under Prime Minister Anwar and Minister Tengku Zafrul from December 2022 to April 2023, State Leader of the Opposition of Johor from April 2022 to his reappointment as a deputy minister in December 2022, the Deputy Minister of Defence in the PH administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Mohamad Sabu from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020, Senator from July 2018 to July 2021 and the MP for Kluang from May 2013 to May 2018 and Bukit Bendera from March 2008 to May 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH coalition. He has served as Deputy Secretary-General of DAP since March 2022 and State Chairman of DAP of Johor. He was the Political Education Director of DAP.
Chow Kon Yeow is a Malaysian politician, lawyer and journalist who has served as the 5th Chief Minister of Penang since May 2018, Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Padang Kota since March 2008 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Batu Kawan since November 2022. He served as Member of the Penang State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administrations under former Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng from March 2008 to his promotion to Chief Ministership in May 2018, MP for Tanjong from November 1999 to May 2013 and again from May 2018 to November 2022 and the MLA for Pengkalan Kota from October 1990 to April 1995. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH and formerly PR coalitions. He has also served as the State Chairman of PH of Penang since May 2019 as well as the National Vice Chairman of DAP since September 2004. He also served as the State Chairman of DAP of Penang from 1999 to September 2024. He is presently the only non-Muslim and Chinese head of state government among the 13 Malaysian states.
Datuk Zuraida binti Kamaruddin is a Singaporean-born Malaysian politician who formerly served as Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Minister of Housing and Local Government twice in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. She was Member of Parliament (MP) for Ampang from March 2008 to November 2022.
Ronald Kiandee is a Malaysian politician. A member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and its Vice President since August 2020 and 2nd State Chairman of Sabah since December 2022, he has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beluran since November 1999. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021. He was reappointed to the same post for a second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 until the dissolution of the BN government in November 2022, when BN lost its reelection campaign in the 2022 general election. Prior to serving in the Cabinet, Kiandee was the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration from 2018 to 2019 and Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat I in the BN administration from 2008 to 2018. He is presently the sole MP of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party of Sabah and one of the only two Christian MPs of PN alongside Ali Biju.
The Sibu by-election, 2010 was a by-election for the seat of Sibu in the Parliament of Malaysia. The Sarawak-based seat fell vacant after the death of its incumbent member, Robert Lau Hoi Chew, from liver cancer on 9 April 2010. The seat was defended for the Barisan Nasional coalition government by Robert Lau Hui Yew of the Sarawak United Peoples' Party (SUPP), while Sarawak State Assemblyman Wong Ho Leng contested the poll for the Democratic Action Party (DAP) in the Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition. Wong won the election by 398 votes, wresting the seat from the Barisan Nasional.
Datuk Seri Panglima Hajah Azizah binti Mohd Dun is a Malaysian politician who served as Chairperson of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from May 2020 to December 2022 and of the Special Select Committee on Fundamental Liberty and Constitutional Rights from November 2021 to November 2022, Deputy Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) from August 2020 to October 2022, the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development and Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Najib Razak and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as well as former Ministers Rohani Abdul Karim and Ong Ka Ting from May 2013 to May 2018 and from March 2004 to March 2008 respectively. She also served as the State Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs of Sabah in the BN state administration under former Chief Minister Musa Aman from 2008 to 2013. In addition, she served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort from March 2004 to March 2008 and again from May 2013 to November 2022, Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Klias from March 2008 to May 2013 as well as a Senator from 2000 to 2004. She is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN), a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), was a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) as well as formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalitions and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. She left UMNO to be an independent in 2018 and later joined BERSATU in 2019 until 2022, and become official member of GAGASAN in 2023 after she left BERSATU in December 2022. She was officially appointed as Women Chief of GRS since 2023 after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of GRS in March 2023.

He served as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Parliament and Law in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Takiyuddin Hassan from July 2020 to August 2021, Secretary of the Government Backbenchers Club (BBC) from September 2021 to June 2022, Secretary of the PN Government Backbenchers Club (PNBBC) from January 2021 to collapse of the PN government in August 2021, Chairman of the FELCRA Berhad briefly from May 2020 to July 2020, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tasek Gelugor from May 2013 to November 2022 and Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Permatang Berangan from March 2004 to May 2013. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions and was a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. After the defeat of BN to PH in the 2018 general election, he resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019.

He served as the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021, Member of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ajil from November 1999 to May 2013. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN administration and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU, a component party of the formerly the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and presently the PN coalitions in 2019.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Saturday, 19 November 2022. The prospect of snap elections had been considered high due to the political crisis that had been ongoing since 2020; political instability caused by coalition or party switching among members of Parliament, combined with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, contributed to the resignation of two prime ministers and the collapse of each of their respective coalition governments since the 2018 general elections.

He has served as the Political Education Director of DAP since March 2022 and the Youth Chief of DAP from November 2015 to December 2018.
The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government. This crisis ended in 2022 and Malaysian political crisis continued in the State of Sabah known as 2023 Kinabalu Move.

He is a Supreme Council Member and the Division Chief of Tanah Merah of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. She served as Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development prior to the 2023 cabinet reshuffle under Minister Nancy Shukri from December 2022 to December 2023 and served as a Senator from August 2018 to August 2021. She is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition and has served as the 2nd Women Chief since December 2019. She has also served as the 3rd Women Chief of PH since September 2021.
