Suhaizan bin Kayat (born 13 April 1973) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pulai since September 2023. [1] He served as Political Secretary to the Ministers of Domestic Trade and Living Costs Salahuddin Ayub and Armizan Mohd Ali from January to December 2023 and Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly from June 2018 to January 2022. [2] [3] He is a member,State Vice Chairman of Johor and Division Chief of Pulai of the National Trust Party (AMANAH),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.
He received his early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit Nawi,Muar and Sekolah Agama Seri Menanti,Muar (Special Degree). Then he continued his secondary schooling at Sekolah Menengah Seri Menanti,Muar and finally at Sekolah Agama Parit Nawi.
After graduating from high school,he continued his studies at the university and was awarded a bachelor's degree and Master of Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia,Skudai.
He is active in the student association at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Among the positions he holds,include as Exco and Vice President of the UTM Student Association.
He is also active in community activities. He has been appointed as the Development Secretary of Taman Universiti Skudai Mosque,Secretary of the Movement to Abolish PPSMI (GMP),Secretary of the People's Land Coalition (TANAH),Advisor of the Kempas People's Action Action Committee and Simpang Renggam People's Action Committee Advisor.
He started venturing into politics by joining PAS. Among his important positions in PAS,include as Johor PAS Youth Council Chief,Central PAS Youth Council Information Chief,Gelang Patah PAS Youth Council Chief,Pulai PAS Committee Member and Pos Malaysia Voting Committee Chairman.
He was appointed as the Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly by former Menteri Besar Osman Sapian from Pakatan Harapan (PH) on 28 June 2018 after Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration was removed in the 2018 state election and has been retained as Speaker by Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad from BN even the PH state administration was overthrown by BN in February 2020. Hence,this became one of a few cases which the speaker is from the opposition instead of either being independent or from the government. He was the only speaker from the opposition in Malaysia. After BN returned to the state government following its victory in the 2022 Johor state election,he and Gan Peck Cheng were not reappointed as speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly.

Dato' Wira Mahfuz bin Omar is a Malaysian politician who has served as Chairman of the Farmers' Organisation Authority (FOA) since May 2023. He served as the Deputy Minister of Human Resources in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister M. Kulasegaran from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pokok Sena from November 1999 to March 2004 and again from March 2008 to November 2022. Datuk Seri Salahuddin bin Ayub was a Malaysian politician who served as Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim from December 2022 to his death in July 2023 and Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry in the Pakatan Harapan administration under Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to his resignation and the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. He also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pulai from May 2018 to his death in July 2023 and for Kubang Kerian from March 2004 to May 2013 as well as Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Simpang Jeram from May 2018 to his death in July 2023. He was a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of PH coalition. He also served as the 1st and founding Deputy President of AMANAH from September 2015 and State Chairman of PH of Johor from September 2022 to his death in July 2023. He was previously a member, Youth Chief and Vice-President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a former component party of the former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions. Datuk Wira Mohd Hatta bin Md. Ramli is a Malaysian politician and physician who has served as the Senator since March 2023. He served as the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lumut from May 2018 to November 2022 and for Kuala Krai from March 2008 to May 2018. He is a member of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of PH coalition and was a member, Treasurer, Elections Director and Central Committee Member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a former component party of the former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition. He is a member and State Elections Department Director of Perak of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition. He has also served as the State Vice Chairman of PKR of Perak since January 2019 and also served as the State Youth Chief of PKR of Perak.
