The Johor State Legislative Assembly (Malay : Dewan Negeri Johor) is the unicameral legislature of the Malaysian state of Johor. It is composed of 56 members who are elected from single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart, along with elections to the federal parliament and other state assemblies (except Sarawak).
The State Assembly convenes at Sultan Ismail Building in Kota Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru.

The Johor State Legislative Assembly's main function is to enact laws that apply in the state. It is also the forum for members to voice their opinions on the state government's policies and implementation of those policies. Under the Privileges, Immunities and Powers Ordinance 1963, assemblymen are given the right to freely discuss current issues such as public complaints. On financial matters, the Assembly approves supply to the government and ensures that the funds are spent as approved and in the tax-payers' interest.
The State Executive Council (EXCO) is appointed from members of the State Assembly. Led by the Menteri Besar, it exercises executive power on behalf of the Sultan and is responsible to the State Assembly.

Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Defence since December 2023 and previously served as the Minister of Higher Education for the second term from December 2022 to December 2023 in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He had previously served as Deputy Minister of Works, Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operatives Development and his first term as Minister of Higher Education in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from 1999 to 2013. Additionally, he served as the 15th Menteri Besar of Johor after he contested and became a Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Permas from May 2013 to May 2018. Throughout his political career, he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for 3 different Johorean federal constituencies, which are Johor Bahru from October 1990 to March 2004, Pasir Gudang from March 2004 to May 2013 and currently for Kota Tinggi since November 2022. He is a member and the Division Chief of Pasir Gudang of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He has served as a Vice President of UMNO since June 2018 and had also served as the State Chairman of UMNO of Johor from January to December 2023.
The Penang State Legislative Assembly is the legislature of the Malaysian state of Penang. It is a unicameral institution, consisting of a total of 40 elected lawmakers representing single-member constituencies throughout Penang. He served as the 18th Menteri Besar of Johor from February 2020 to March 2022, Leader of the Opposition of Johor from June 2018 to February 2020, Member of the Johor State Executive Council (EXCO) from May 2013 to May 2018 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Pontian from March 2004 to March 2008 and Chairman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) from August 2022 to December 2022. He is member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He had served as the State Chairman of BN of Johor from 2018 to 2023. He also served as the State Chairman of UMNO of Johor from July 2018 to his removal from the position in January 2023 and Division Chief of UMNO of Pontian from 2001 to his defeat in the party elections in March 2023.
AndrewChen Kah Eng is a Malaysian politician from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions who has served as Leader of the Balancing Force of Johor since March 2023 and Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Stulang since May 2013. He served as the Leader of the Opposition of Johor from December 2022 to March 2023 and Chairman of Special Task Force on the Issue of Traffic Congestion in the Sultan Iskandar Building and Immigration and Quarantine Complex from July 2018 to January 2019. He has also served as State Secretary of DAP of Johor since May 2021.
