Chegondi Anantha Sriram is an Indian lyricist, poet and actor who works in Telugu cinema. [1] Sriram has written lyrics for over 1000 Telugu film songs in his career. He won a Nandi Award, a Filmfare Award and a SIIMA Award for his work as a lyric writer.

Early life

Anantha Sriram was born on 8 April 1984 in Doddipatla village near Palakollu in West Godavari district. His parents are C. V. V. Satyanarayana and Umarani. [1] Anantha Sriram is a relative of politician Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah. [2] He started writing songs from the age of 12. [1]

Career

Kadante Aunanile (2005) was the first film he worked on. He gained prominence after he wrote songs for Chiranjeevi's Andarivaadu and Stalin. [1] He has worked with top music directors including A. R. Rahman, Keeravani and Illayaraja.

Besides a Filmfare award for Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu , he has received a host of other honours. [3] He also made a cameo appearance in the film Saakshyam (2018) as a game designer.

Neti Bharatam is a 1983 film written and directed by T. Krishna and produced by Eetharam Films. It is a musical hit film promoting liberal ideals. Lyrics for the songs were written by revolutionary poet Srirangam Srinivasa Rao, Adrushta Deepak who was then an unknown lyricist, and music scored by K. Chakravarthy. The movie is most famous for the song "Maanavatvam Parimalinche", which got the lyricist Adrushta Deepak noticed. Suman and Vijayashanti played lead roles, with Nagabhushanam and Rajyalakshmi in assisting roles. The film was remade in Kannada as Indina Bharatha, Hindi as Haqeeqat (1985) and in Tamil as Puthiya Theerppu (1985). The film won six Nandi Awards.

Nani is an Indian actor, producer and television presenter who works predominantly in Telugu cinema and appears in a few Tamil language films. He made his acting debut with Mohana Krishna Indraganti's 2008 comedy film Ashta Chamma, an Indian adaptation of Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest. After Ashta Chamma's commercial success, Nani played the lead roles in three Telugu films in the next two years: Ride (2009), Snehituda (2009) and Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu (2010). In 2011, Nani collaborated with B. V. Nandini Reddy on the romantic comedy film Ala Modalaindi which was profitable. Rakendu Mouli Vennelakanti is an Indian lyricist, actor, singer, and dialogue writer who works in Telugu films. He is the son of Telugu lyricist Vennelakanti.

SIIMA Award for Best Lyricist – Telugu is presented by Vibri media group as part of its annual South Indian International Movie Awards, for the best lyrics done by a writer for a Telugu song. The award was first given in 2012 for songs and films released in 2011. Ramajogayya Sastry is the most nominated with 11 nominations and Ramajogayya Sastry and Chandrabose are the most awarded with three times winning the award.
