Anarchytecture received mixed professional reviews.
The Clash magazine wrote that while it sounded "more sincere" than the previous album Black Traffic the songwriting was still "timid", citing the lead single "Love Someone Else" as "one of the dullest songs" ever written by Skunk Anansie. The reviewer did, however, remark specific tracks like "Death To The Lovers" that was reminiscent of early songs like "Hedonism", and "Without You" as typical Skunk Anansie songs. [5] Drowned in Sound wrote that the album skipped from genre to genre "in a fairly risk-free, but comfortably accomplished way". With Anarchytecture, Skunk Anansie knew how "to produce the best possible version of themselves". [6] The reviewer for Gigwise criticised that after 20 years, Skunk Anansie's original sounds had been turned to "more conventional, melody-driven rock". Nonetheless, he praised singer Skin's honest lyrics and found that the album was enjoyable for old and new fans alike. [2] The Record Collector magazine wrote that Anarchytecture continued the band's 1990s sound. [7] Also the reviewer for the Sonic Seducer found references to Skunk Anansie's musical past in songs like "We Are The Flames" and "Suckers!". He wrote also that "In The Backroom" was reminiscent of Gossip while the opulent "Death To The Lovers" could as well have been performed by Annie Lennox. [9]
Papers like the Hackney Gazette and the London Evening Standard were more critical. The former stated that the album was partly solid but also "forgettable" in other parts and that the band was struggling to match their early dynamic style. [3] A review by the latter newspaper found that the album's "horrible portmanteau title [was] reflected in the record’s jarring combination of big guitars and lurking synths." [1]

Not entirely satisfied with its initial release, Skin re-released it with new album artwork and a slightly different track listing. "As Long as That's True" was replaced with "Getting Away with It", a cover of the song by Electronic. The radio edit to "Faithfulness" was also added.
Keys to the World is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter Richard Ashcroft. It was released 23 January 2006, reaching number 2 in the UK Albums Chart. Ashcroft worked on the album at State of the Ark Studios and Julian Kershaw wrote string arrangements for some of the songs later recorded by London Metropolitan Orchestra. Strings are featured on eight songs on the album which also features electric viola on some tracks – played by Bruce White. The engineer/producer of this album was Chris Potter, and being his final solo album for a decade, until These People (2016).
Fake Chemical State is the second solo album by Skunk Anansie lead vocalist Skin. Released on 20 March 2006, the album was produced by Gordon Raphael and Skin herself, except for the first single "Alone in My Room" which Skin produced with former Mansun lead vocalist Paul Draper. The track "Take Me On" features Italian music group Marlene Kuntz with whom Skin previously collaborated on the track "La canzone che scrivo per te" for their album Che cosa vedi.
