Norman Hackerman was an American chemist,professor,and academic administrator who served as the 18th President of the University of Texas at Austin (1967–1970) and later as the 4th President of Rice University (1970–1985). He was an internationally known expert in metal corrosion.

Susan Hockfield is an American neuroscientist who served as the sixteenth president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from December 2004 through June 2012. Hockfield succeeded Charles M. Vest and was succeeded by L. Rafael Reif,who had served in her administration as Provost. Hockfield was the first biologist and the first woman to serve as the Institute's president. Hockfield currently serves as a Professor of Neuroscience in MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences,a Joint Professor of Work and Organization Studies in MIT’s Sloan School of Management,and a member of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. She is also a director of Break Through Cancer,Cajal Neuroscience,Fidelity Non-Profit Management Foundation,Lasker Foundation,Mass General Brigham,Pfizer,Repertoire Immune Medicines,and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research;a lifetime member of the MIT Corporation;and a board member of the Belfer Center at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Before returning to MIT following her presidency,Hockfield held the Marie Curie Visiting Professorship at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Sir John Antony Hood is a New Zealand businessman and administrator. He was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford from 5 October 2004 until 30 September 2009. He was the first Vice-Chancellor to be elected from outside Oxford's academic body in 900 years,and the first to have addressed the scholars' congregation via a webcast. In March 2007 New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark awarded him the World Class New Zealand supreme award to honour his contribution to profiling New Zealand and New Zealanders internationally. On 15 November 2007 he announced that he would not seek an extension to his five-year term as Vice Chancellor,and that he would leave Oxford in September 2009.

Herbert Holden Thorp is an American chemist,professor and entrepreneur. He is a professor of chemistry at George Washington University. He was the tenth chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,assuming the position on July 1,2008,succeeding James Moeser,and,at age 43,was noted as being among the youngest leaders of a university in the United States. At the time of his selection as chancellor,Thorp was the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a Kenan Professor of chemistry at the university. Thorp is a 1986 graduate of UNC;he later earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from California Institute of Technology,and was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University.
Katepalli Raju Sreenivasan is an aerospace scientist,fluid dynamicist,and applied physicist whose research includes physics and applied mathematics. He studies turbulence,nonlinear and statistical physics,astrophysical fluid mechanics,and cryogenic helium. He was the dean of engineering and executive vice provost for science and technology of New York University. Sreenivasan is also the Eugene Kleiner Professor for Innovation in Mechanical Engineering at New York University Tandon School of Engineering and a professor of physics and mathematics professor at the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science and Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

David H. Farrar is an academic and university administrator,serving as the eighth and current President and Vice-Chancellor of McMaster University. Farrar served as professor of chemistry and an academic administrator at the University of Toronto from 1981 to 2007 and the University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2017. From 1 July to 14 August 2016,Farrar briefly served as the interim president of University of British Columbia. In 2017,Farrar joined McMaster University,serving as its Provost and Vice President of Academics,before being named the university's interim president on 1 July 2019 for a one year term. However,in December 2019 McMaster named Farrar as its official president,with his first formal term beginning on 1 July 2020.
