The Chef de Mission of the Anguillan team was former Hampshire County Cricket Club fast bowler, Cardigan Connor.
Saint Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla was a British colony in the West Indies from 1882 to 1983, consisting of the islands of Anguilla, Nevis, and Saint Christopher. From 1882 to 1951, and again from 1980, the colony was known simply as Saint Christopher and Nevis. Saint Christopher and Nevis gained independence in 1983 as the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, while Anguilla would remain a British overseas territory.

In only their third Games the British overseas territory of Anguilla was represented at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne by a six-member contingent, comprising six sportspersons and no officials. They competed in five events in cycling and athletics. They won no medals.
At the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the athletics events were held at the City of Manchester Stadium on 26–30 July 2002. The route for the marathon event crossed Manchester city centre and finished in the stadium. The race walk events began alongside the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays. There were twenty-five men's events and 23 women's events; the schedules were identical except that there were men's 3000 metres steeplechase and 50 kilometres walk events. Pole vaulter Dominic Johnson won a bronze medal, Saint Lucia's only medal of the Games.
The Maldives first participated at the Olympic Games in 1988. It has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since, but has not participated in the Winter Olympic Games.
Janine Claire Belton, is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain at the Olympics and FINA world championships, and competed for England at the Commonwealth Games, during the 1990s and early 2000s.
The athletics competition at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held in New Delhi, India between 6 and 14 October. The track and field events took place between 6–12 October at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium while the marathon contests were held on a street course running through the city on 14 October.
Jazmin Roxy "Jazz" Carlin is a former British competitive swimmer, who previously represented Wales and the Great Britain swimming team. She competed primarily in endurance freestyle events, and was based at the University of Bath. She won gold for Wales at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, double gold for Great Britain in the 400 metres and 800 metres freestyle at both the 2014 European Championships and the 2015 European Championships before winning two silver medals for Great Britain in the same events behind Katie Ledecky at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Zharnel Hughes is an Anguilla-born British sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Born and raised in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla, he has competed internationally for Great Britain in the Olympic Games, World Athletics and European Athletics events, and for England at the Commonwealth Games, since 2015. A double Commonwealth Games, double European Championships gold medalist as part of the 4 x 100 metres relay, Hughes has twice been European champion individually; over 100 metres in 2018, and 200 metres in 2022. In 2023, he broke both British sprint records, before winning his first global individual medal, a bronze in the 100 metres at the 2023 World championships.
Anguilla competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 3, 2014. On June 30, 2014, Anguilla's final squad of 12 athletes in 2 sports was named.
Mauriel Carty is a male Anguillan sprinter. He competed in the 200 metres event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. His parents are Maureen and Dave Carty, who both run a famous BBQ restaurant in West End, Anguilla. He trained under Mr.Duncan while living in Anguilla. He went to Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary School and Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. He has moved to America and now lives in Brooklyn, New York and attends college at Kingsborough Community College.
Grace Elizabeth Reid is a Scottish diver representing Scotland and Great Britain, and specialising in 1 metre and 3 metre springboard disciplines. She is a world championship silver medallist in the 1 metre springboard, twice a world medallist in the 3 metre mixed synchronised 3 metre springboard discipline, a double gold medallist at both the European Championships and the Commonwealth Games as well as a multiple minor medallist in both those events, the European Games and the FINA Diving World Cup. Domestically, Reid is a three-time national champion.
Erin Gallagher is a South African swimmer. She competed in the women's 100 metre freestyle event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. In 2019, she represented South Africa at the 2019 African Games held in Rabat, Morocco.
Phillippa Langrell is a New Zealand swimmer who represented her country at the 1992 Summer Olympics and at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and 1994 Commonwealth Games.
Wendy Lee Brown is a former New Zealand sprinter. She represented her country at the 1974 and 1978 Commonwealth Games, Brown was selected for the 1982 Commonwealth Games, but withdrew from team due to injury. Brown was the New Zealand recordholder over 100 and 200 metres between 1974 and 1985. She won six New Zealand national sprinting titles between 1971 and 1981.
Penny McCarthy is a New Zealand swimmer. She won the silver medal in the women's 100 metres butterfly representing her country at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, recording a time of 1:02.27, and finishing 0.35 s behind the winner, Wendy Quirk from Canada. She also competed in the 200 metres butterfly at those games, but finished ninth in the heats and did not progress further.
Melanie Anne Jones is a former New Zealand swimmer. She won a bronze medal competing for her country at the 1982 Commonwealth Games.
