Angul Thermal Power Station is a coal based thermal power project located at Derang village in Angul district in Indian state of Odisha. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of Jindal India Thermal Power Limited.

Coal for the power plant is sourced from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited and water is sourced from Samal Barrage on Brahmani River which is 14 km away. [1]

Bharat Heavy Electricals is the EPC contractor for this project.

Capacity

Its planned capacity is 1200 MW (2x600 MW). There is a plan to add third unit of 600 MW to this Angul-1 phase. Angul-2 phase having 2x660 MW units is yet to be approved by Government of India.

Talcher Thermal Power Station

Talcher Thermal Power station is located in Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the Indian state of Odisha Pin.759101. The power plant is one of the coal-based plants of NTPC. The coal for the power plant is sourced from Jagannath Mines of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. Source of water for the plant is from Brahmani River. It has its own railway station and is well connected to 3 other important stations in close vicinity: Talcher Road, Angul and Talcher Stations. This power plant has been ranked among the best power plants in the country despite being the oldest plant in the state. It has consistently topped the charts in NTPC for the last 4 years and was also the nation's top power plant in 2015-16.

Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station Building in India

Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant located in the outskirts of Visakhapatnam city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal fired power plants of NTPC, a Government of India enterprise. The coal for the power plant is sourced from Kalinga Block of Talcher Coal fields in Odisha. The plant is a national asset, and power generated is shared between multiple states, as the operator is national. Power generated by units 1 and 2, making up for 1,000 MW, is dedicated to power distribution companies owned by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The remaining 1,000 MW, generated by units 3 and 4, is allocated to the states of Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, A. P., Telangana and pondicherry as per their shares as decided in PPA.

Neyveli Thermal Power Station

Neyveli Thermal Power Station is a set of power plant situated near lignite mines of Neyveli. It consists of two distinct units capable of producing 1020 MW and 1,970 MW respectively including their expansion units. It is operated by NLC. The total installed capacity of this station is 2990 MW as of December 2014.

Kanti Thermal Power Station

Kanti Thermal Power Station also known as George Fernandes Thermal Power Plant Station is located in Kanti, Muzaffarpur, 90 km from Patna, the capital of the Indian state of Bihar. Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station at Darlipali village in Sundargarh district in Indian state of Odisha. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC Limited. Coal will be obtained from Dulanga and Pakri Barwadih Coal Block and water supply will be sourced from the Hirakund Reservoir on the Mahanadi River through a pipeline at over a distance of about 30.0 km from project site. The Nabinagar Thermal Power Station Project (NTPS) of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited is a joint venture of NTPC Limited and Indian Railways to install a 4X 250 MW thermal power plant at Nabinagar in Aurangabad district, Bihar, India. The equity portions of NTPC and Indian Railways will be 74 per cent and 26 per cent respectively. Nearly 90 per cent of the electricity generated from the plant is supplied to the railways to meet nationwide requirements and remaining 10 per cent is given to Bihar.
