Phyllis Ann Long (born 6 July 1936) is a female former diver who competed for England.
Long's first experience of an Olympics was as a 12 year old who travelled with a friend to Wembley and sneaked in to watch the diving final of the 1948 Summer Olympics. [1] Four years later Long was competing in Helsinki at the 1952 Summer Olympics, she reached the final in the 3 metre springboard and finished in eighth place, this was followed up with a fifth place in the 10 metre platform. At the 1956 Summer Olympics she again reach the final in both events, finishing sixth 3 metre springboard, and seventh in the 10 metre platform. Long's third and final Olympic appearance was at the 1960 Summer Olympics and for the third time she reached both finals, finishing 8th in the 10 metre platform and 7th in the 3 metre springboard. She represented England and won a gold medal and bronze medal in the 3 metres springboard and 10 metres platform respectively at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, Canada. [3] Four years later she won a silver medal in the 10 metres platform at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff. [4]
After her diving days were finished Long married Ron Pearce and they had seven children, she became a primary school teacher and also introduced children to diving in her local pool, and when in her seventies she still owned a pub which is run by one of her daughters. [1]
Émilie-Joane Heymans is a Canadian diver. She was born in Brussels, Belgium and raised in Greenfield Park, a suburb of Montreal. Heymans has won four Olympic medals, two bronze and two silver. She was the first female diver to win medals in four consecutive Olympic games and the first Canadian to win medals in four consecutive Olympics. Heymans also is a one time world champion and has won four Pan American championships as well as one Commonwealth Games championship. In addition she has won multiple medals in all three of these competitions.
Alexandre Despatie is a Canadian diver and broadcaster from Laval, Quebec. He was the world champion at the 1 and 3 m springboards from 2005 to 2007 and is the first, and so far only, diver to have been world champion in all three individual categories. He is also a 37-time Canadian senior diving champion and nine-time junior champion, and the most decorated male diver in Canadian history, winning two Olympic silver medals and reaching eight podiums at the world championships, including three gold medals. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Irene Margaret MacDonald, was a Canadian athlete, sports executive and broadcaster from Hamilton, Ontario. She won Canada's first-ever Olympic diving medal, a bronze, at the 1956 Summer Games.
Jennifer Abel is a Canadian former diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the same event with Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu. Abel is a four-time Commonwealth Games champion in the 1 m and 3 m synchronized springboard; and is also a three-time Pan American Games champion in the 3 m springboard and 3 m synchronized springboard. Her ten medals at the FINA World Championships are a record for most medals by a Canadian in diving at the world championships.
Bryan Nickson Lomas is a former Malaysian diver. Lomas was the youngest Malaysian athlete to qualify for 2004 Summer Olympics when he was 14. He became the country's first world junior diving champion after winning gold at the 3 m springboard event in the World Junior Championships held at Belem, Brazil in 2004. He trained under the coaching of Yang Zhuliang. Lomas is named after the footballer Bryan Robson by his father.
Elizabeth Anne Esther "Liz" Ferris was a British diver. She was the third of four children to Roy Ferris, a dairyman and Dorothy Philomena. Raised in central London, she attended Francis Holland School and was a member of the Mermaids Swimming Club which was notable for training female athletes for the Olympics. Ferris won a bronze Olympic medal in the women's 3 metre springboard event at the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics.
Keith Collin was a British diver who won the gold medal in the Men's 3 metres (9.8 ft) springboard diving at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics.
Anabelle "Belle" Smith is an Australian diver. She is 2022 Commonwealth Games champion in the 3 metre synchronized springboard. She competed in the 3 m springboard synchronized event at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She won a bronze medal in 2016, and was placed fifth in 2012.
Cheong Jun Hoong is a retired Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, she became Malaysia's first diving world champion after winning the 10m platform event.

Susannah Claire "Suki" Brownsdon is an English former competitive swimmer who won a silver medal in the women's 100-metre breaststroke at the 1981 European Championships, and represented Great Britain at four consecutive Olympic Games, with her best results being sixth place in the 100-metre breaststroke final in 1980 and seventh place in the 200-metre breaststroke final in 1984. She also represented England at three Commonwealth Games, winning a total of five medals.
Edna Lilian Child was a British diver. Competing in the 3 metre springboard she won a gold medal at the 1950 British Empire Games and a bronze at the 1938 European Championships and finished sixth at the 1948 Summer Olympics. At the 1950 British Empire Games she also won a gold medal in the 10 metre platform. Her husband Ken Tinegate competed in rowing at those Games.
