In 2006, she starred FI Manik-directed Koti Takar Kabin as the lead female opposite Shakib Khan for the first time, with whom she later acted in more than 75 films.

Early life

Apu Biswas Megha was born on 11 October 1989 in Bogra, Bangladesh to Upendronath Bishwas (d. 2014) and Shefali Bishwas (d. 2020). [6] [1] [7] Apu is the youngest had three daughters and a son. [7]

Career

Biswas made her debut in the film industry with the film Kal Shokale in 2006. [1] She then performed in Koti Takar Kabin . Biswas played the role of Parvati in the 2013 Bangladeshi remake of Devdas . [8] She performed in the 2013 film My Name Is Khan . [9]

Personal life

On 18 April 2008, Biswas married actor Shakib Khan. [10] The couple has a son, Abraam Khan Joy (born September 27, 2016). [11] They had kept their marriage a secret until 10 April 2017 when Apu appeared on television with her son and revealed it. [12] [13] [14] [15] Khan filed for a divorce on 22 November 2017, [16] and the couple was divorced on 22 February 2018. [17] Biswas had converted to Islam after her marriage with Khan and took the name Apu Islam Khan, [18] [19] [20] [21] but she reportedly reverted to Hinduism after their divorce. [22]

In February 2024, Biswas purchased nomination papers from Bangladesh Awami League for the seats reserved for women in Jatiya Sangsad for the Rajshahi Division's Bogra zone. But she eventually did not get the nomination. [23]

The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcoholism, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a courtesan, Chandramukhi, played by Moushumi.

Moner Jala is a 2011 Dhallywood action thriller film. The film was directed by Malek Afsari and produced by Taposhi Thakur under the banner of Heartbeat Production. It features Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas in the lead roles. It was Shakib Khan's first film of 2011. The film was released internationally as Moner Jala: Most Wanted. The film is a partial remake of the 2006 Telugu film Pokiri. Shakib Khan made his debut as a playback singer with the film.

Shahid Hasan, known by professionally as Misha Sawdagor, is a Bangladeshi film actor known for playing villains. As of 2020, according to him, he has performed in more than 700 films. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards 3 times for his roles in the films Boss Number One (2011), Olpo Olpo Premer Golpo (2014) and Bir (2020). He first got noticed as a villain in the 1995 film Asha Bhalobasha starring Salman Shah. After Shah's death, he continued playing the villain opposite other actors, but failed to achieve any mainstream success or recognition. From 2006 onwards he started playing the main antagonist in a long string of hit movies starring Shakib Khan in the lead role and mostly Apu Biswas as the lead actress, and established himself as a leading antagonist in the Cinema of Bangladesh.

M B Manik was a Bangladeshi filmmaker. He made his debut with Durdorsho in 2005 featuring Shakib Khan. He directed total 36 films, most of his notable films with Khan, whice including Kothin Prem, Prem Koyedi, Jaan Amar Jaan, Jaan Kurbaan, Ek Takar Denmohor, Jadrel, Bolona Tumi Amar, and Durdorsho Premik.

Amit Hassan is a Bangladeshi film actor and his actual name is Khandar Saifur Rahman. He was elected secretary general of the Bangladesh Film Actors' Association in 2015. In its review of 2011 cinema, The Daily Star included Amit Hassan among "Other stars that deserve mention". In January 2015 Hassan participated in a strike of Bangladeshi film artists against the screening of the Indian film Wanted in Bangladesh, calling for a boycott of Bangladeshi theatres showing the movie.
