The men's individual recurve archery competition at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon was held from 23 to 28 September at Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field. [1]

Contents

A total of 71 archers participated in the qualification round after one pulled out. Only the top two archers from each country were allowed to progress to the knockout stage. [2] [3]

Park Sung-hyun is an archer from South Korea who competed in two Olympic Games, winning three gold medals. Park made her international archery debut in 2001, winning the women's recurve title at that year's World Archery Championships. Her Olympic debut came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won gold medals in both the women's individual and women's team events. Ki Bo-bae is a South Korean recurve archer and three-time Olympic gold medalist. Her tally of four Olympic medals places her among the most decorated archers in Olympic history.

The Men's individual recurve was one of the events held in archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. There were two classes: a class for W1 & W2 wheelchair competitors and a class for standing archers. In the ranking round each archer shot 72 arrows; in the knockout stages each match was 12 arrows each.

Mete Gazoz is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Mete Gazoz emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Individual title. In an intense final, he triumphed over the skilled Canadian archer Eric Peters, securing his place as the first Turkish archer to achieve the esteemed recurve gold medal in a World Championship.

Atanu Das is an Indian archer. He represents India in the recurve men's individual and team events. His current world ranking is 9 as of 22 July 2021. He is the spouse of former World No. 1 Indian archer Deepika Kumari. The Indian Men's recurve team consisting of Atanu Das, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Tushar Shelke won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games. They lost the final to Republic of Korea.

The women's individual recurve archery competition at the 2018 Asian Games was held from 21 to 28 August at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex Archery Field in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was the eleventh time the event was held as part of the Asian Games sports programme since the sport's debut in the competition in 1978. A total of 68 archers from 25 nations participated. Jung Dasomi of South Korea entered as the defending champion, having won the women's individual gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games.

Li Jialun is a Chinese archer. He competed in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The archery competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris took place over seven days, from 25 July to 4 August, at Les Invalides. 128 archers competed across five events, with the mixed team recurve returning to the Olympic program for the second time.
