Archita Sahu (born 29 June), known professionally as Archita, [2] is an Indian actress, model, and television personality. She is known for her work in Odia films, for which she has received four Odisha State Film Awards. [3]

Early life

Sahu was born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. In 2011, she graduated from KIIT University with a B.Tech in Information Technology. [4] She is trained in classical Odissi dancing, with which she gained a national scholarship for. [5]

In 2004, she was crowned Miss Kalinga. [3] In 2013, she was named first runner-up in Kolkata's regional Femina Miss India pageant. [6]

Film career

Despite beauty pageants being commonly seen as steppingstones to gaining mainstream film roles in Bollywood, Sahu took up roles in Odia films instead. [7] Her first Odia film, O My Love, was released in 2005. At the Odisha State Film Awards, she was awarded Best Actress four times. [3] [8] [9] [10]

Other work

Sahu is the state Ambassador of UNICEF and Government of Odisha's "Eradication of child labour". [11] [12] She is also the ambassador of Junior Red Cross. [13]

She was also a part of IPL 5 as brand ambassador of Deccan Chargers. [14] [15] [16]

Personal life

On 1 March 2021, Sahu married fellow actor Sabyasachi Mishra in Jaipur. [17]

Archita has won several awards in her film career to date, including three state awards by the Government of Odisha. [22]

He not only directs but also write scripts, lyrics and does the screenplay. He produced and directed Keun Duniaru Asila Bandhu which is the first science fiction in Odia.

The Tarang Cine Awards are presented annually by Tarang entertainment television channel to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Oriya language film industry mainly based in State of Orissa, India.

The Etv Oriya Film Awards started in the year 2010 to honor Odisha film artists & technician. Awards have been instituted in 14 categories that include the best film, best director, best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best supporting actress, best villain, best play back singers, best music composer, best comedian, best child artist and best debut actors, Lifetime Achievement Award have conferred on a prominent and pioneering personality of the Odia film industry for significant contribution to cinema.

<i>Swayamsiddha</i> 2010 Indian film

Swayamsiddha is a 2010 Odia film directed by Sudhanshu Sahu with a screenplay and dialogue by Dilip Choudhury, produced by Prabhat Ranjan Mallik, and starring Siddhanta Mahapatra and Yukta Inderlal Mookhey. The film focuses on the implications for the young mass adopting to Maoist insurgency and their sustained alienation from the mainstream as a result. Geo-strategic importance of changing the minds of young people adopting terrorism through love and affection. The film traces the crisis from social trauma to unfair state system encouraging Mao-Naxal insurgency in Odisha.

Akashe ki Ranga Lagila is a 2009 India Odia-drama film directed by S.K. Muralidharan. It stars Anubhav Mohanty, Archita Sahu and Rali Nanda.

Haata Dhari Chalutha is a 2013 Oriya Drama movie directed by Himansu Parija. It was produced by Anubhav Mohanty & Anuprash Mohanty. The film stars with Anubhav Mohanty and Barsha Priyadarshini in lead roles. The music was given by Prem Anand. The film released on 14 June 2013. The film was a remake of Telugu film Solo.

Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba is an Oriya drama and romance film released on 10 June 2012. Starring Arindam Roy, Archita Sahu and Mihir Das in key roles. veteran actress Mahasweta Roy being enacted the role of mother of Arindam Roy and Mihir Das played the role of father of Archita Sahu. The film is about strategic love dilemma of a rich girl with a poor boy. Arindam Roy was selected to play the lead role.

<i>Pushkara</i> (film) 2023 Indian film

Pushkara is a 2023 Indian Odia-language film directed by Subhransu Das in his debut and released on 19 September 2023 on the occasion of Ganesh Puja. It was made by Tarang Cine Productions. Musician Bibhuti Bhusan Gadanayak composed all the songs in the movie. Sabyasachi Mishra and Supriya Nayak played the lead role. Actors like Choudhury Bikash Das, Asrumochan Mohanty, Pintu Nanda, Tribhuban Panda, Alka Satpathy, Rabi Mishra, Sankarsan Pradhan played various roles in the movie.
