The Armagh Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by top-tier Armagh GAA clubs. The Armagh County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1889.
Crossmaglen Rangers are the title holders (2023) defeating Clan na Gael in the Final.
The first official football champions of Armagh, following the creation in 1889 of the County Board, were Armagh Harps, in the 1889 final which saw the defeat of Blackwatertown in Armagh by a scoreline of 4-14 to 0-03.[ citation needed ] Crossmaglen Rangers have won the Armagh senior football championship on most occasions, with 40 victories since 1906, including a run of 13 wins from 1996 to 2008. During the 1997-2000 victorious seasons, Crossmaglen went on to claim three All-Ireland Club Championships in four years. They have since added All-Ireland titles in 2007, 2011 and 2012.[ citation needed ]
The trophy presented to the winners is the Gerry Fagan Cup. [2] The winners of the Armagh Championship qualify to represent their county in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. The winners can, in turn, go on to play in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.

The Armagh County Board or Armagh GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.
The Carlow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Carlow GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Carlow and the Carlow county teams.
Crossmaglen Rangers Gaelic Athletic Club is a GAA club in Crossmaglen, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. They cater for Gaelic football and camogie. Their home football ground is St. Oliver Plunkett Park, which was opened in 1959. In 1971 the British Army took possession of a portion of the ground despite opposition from the club and the Irish Government, and this led to a controversy regarding the British Army's conduct.
The Ulster Senior Football Championship is an inter-county and cross-border competition for Gaelic football teams in the Irish province of Ulster. It is organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and begins in April. The final is played in May, but, traditionally, was usually played on the third Sunday in July.
Oisín McConville is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player. He has been manager of the Wicklow county team since 2022. McCoville played at senior level for the Armagh county team in the 1990s and 2000s. He won an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medal, seven Ulster Championships and a National League title with the county. He was also awarded two All Stars.
The Sligo Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Sligo clubs. The winners of the Sligo Senior Championship qualify to represent the county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Tubbercurry remain the most successful club, having won the Championship on 20 occasions, the last in 2014. Coolera/Strandhill are the current champions, having defeated Naomh Molaise Gaels in the 2023 final.
The Ulster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament organised by Ulster GAA. It is played between the Senior championship winners from each of the nine counties of Ulster. The competition was first held in 1968 and has a straight knock-out format. The winners are awarded the Seamus McFerran Cup. The winners go on to represent Ulster in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.
