Armenia participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. On 11 June 2015 it was confirmed that they would use internal selection. Michael Varosyan (Mika) was selected as the Armenian representative on 14 July with his song "Love", being selected on 6 October.
Armenia finished 2nd with 176 points during the final.
On 11 June 2015, the Armenian public broadcaster, Public Television of Armenia (ARMTV), announced its plans to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia. [1] The broadcaster had opted for an internal selection method, to decide their artist and song to represent them in November. [1]
The broadcaster announced on 14 July, that they had selected 12-year-old Michael Varosyan to be their representative in Bulgaria. [2] He was actually part of Compass Band, the representatives in 2012, but he was not allowed to compete since he was only 9. Varosyan has previous taken part in the national selection shows for Armenia since 2013, but never gained the ticket to represent his country at the junior contest.
On 19 September, an announcement by the public broadcaster stated that their 2015 Junior Eurovision representative, Michael Varosyan, would be performing the song "Love". [3] It was officially presented on 6 October.

Michael Varosyan (Armenian : Միքայել Վարոսյան), better known as simply Mika (Armenian : Միկա), is an Armenian child singer who represented Armenia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Mika started his music career at the age of six, after studying in the art. Varosyan has taken part in a variety of international music festivals, including the Armenian national selection competition "New wave" in 2012, and in 2013 he took part in "Golden Sparkles", a festival held in Varna. "Love" is a song by Armenian child singer Michael Varosyan, simply known as Mika. It represented Armenia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Bulgaria and he achieved 2nd place with 176 points which is highest number of points for a non-winning entry. [3]
At the running order draw which took place on 15 November 2015, Armenia were drawn to perform eleventh on 21 November 2015, following Belarus and preceding Ukraine. [5]
Mika was wearing a pink suit and a white shirt, and his backing vocalists and dancers were also wearing pink costumes with glitter. It all started with a wide shot of the stage and the audience at the Arena Armeec, and then it approaches to the stage, where a big Earth displayed on the backdrops turns around full with pixel hearts, Mika's symbol. However, Armenia's backgrounds were very dynamic so everybody would see pink and grey colors, the word 'Love' written on the backdrop and white lights. There were also pyrotechnics at the end of the performance. At the end of the voting, Armenia placed 2nd with 176 points. [6]
The voting during the final consisted of 50 percent public televoting and 50 percent from a jury deliberation. The jury consisted of five music industry professionals who were citizens of the country they represent, with their names published before the contest to ensure transparency. This jury was asked to judge each contestant based on: vocal capacity; the stage performance; the song's composition and originality; and the overall impression by the act. In addition, no member of a national jury could be related in any way to any of the competing acts in such a way that they cannot vote impartially and independently. The individual rankings of each jury member were released one month after the final.[ citation needed ]
Following the release of the full split voting by the EBU after the conclusion of the competition, it was revealed that Armenia had placed 2nd with the public televote and 2nd with the jury vote. In the public vote, Armenia scored 134 points, while with the jury vote, Armenia scored 149 points. Armenia has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2007. Armenian Public Television (ARMTV), a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), has been responsible for the selection process of their participants since their debut.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 was the thirteenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and took place, for the first time, in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT was the host broadcaster for the event. The final took place on 21 November 2015 and was held at the Arena Armeec in Sofia. Poli Genova, a Bulgarian singer and former representative of Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, hosted the show. A total of seventeen countries participated, with Australia and Ireland making their debuts. Albania and Macedonia returned after being absent since the 2012 and 2013 contests, respectively. Croatia and Cyprus withdrew after returning in the 2014 edition, while Sweden withdrew for the first time since 2008.
Belarus participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Volshebstvo (Magic)" written by Vitaliy Kurovskiy, Ruslan Aslanov. The song was performed by Ruslan Aslanov. The Belarusian entry for the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria was selected through a national final organised by the Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC). The national final consisted of ten competing acts participating in a televised production where the winner was determined by a 50/50 combination of both telephone vote and the votes of jury members made up of music professionals. After winning both the televote and jury vote, Ruslan Aslanov and his song "Volshebstvo" were declared the winners.
Bulgaria participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, as the host country, after Italy who had won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014, declined the invitation from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to host the contest. The event took place at the Arena Armeec on 21 November 2015. National broadcasters Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and bTV jointly organised the national selection process, in order to decide who would represent them on home soil.
The Netherlands selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 entry through Junior Songfestival 2015, a national selection consisting of eight songs. The competing songs broke down into two semi-finals, each consisting of four songs, and a final consisting of the top two placing songs from each semi-final and a special wildcard that was originally eliminated. The eight finalists were revealed on 2 April 2015. The final was held on 3 October 2015, while the two semi-finals were on 19 and 26 September.
Georgia selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 entry through an internal selection like they've done in previous years. On 25 September 2015 it was revealed that group The Virus will represent Georgia in the contest with the song "Gabede". Georgia ended in tenth place with 51 points.
Malta selected their Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 artist through a national selection on 11 July 2015, while their song was selected internally. The twenty acts competing to represent Malta were released on 26 June 2015. They performed covers or non-Eurovision candidate songs during the national final, and the winner's Junior Eurovision song was revealed at a later date. Destiny Chukunyere represented Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria with the song, Not My Soul. Malta won the competition with a record of 185 points, breaking the previous record held by Spain in the 2004 contest.
Italy participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria after winning in its first appearance in the 2014 contest. They had initially selected their act through the national final Ti lascio una canzone on 12 September 2015, were Chiara and Martina Scarpari had won. However, on 17 September 2015, it was announced that there were technical issues in the voting, and the final would be re-run on 19 September 2015. The Scarpari sisters went on to win the re-run final, and would still represent Italy at the 2015 contest. Italy finished in 16th place during the contest with 34 points.
Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Ukrainian broadcaster NTU selected their entrant through a televised national final. The semi-final took place on 25 July 2015. Fourteen acts competed in the televised final on 22 August 2015. Anna Trincher and her song "Pochny z sebe" were later declared the winners and represented Ukraine. Ukraine finished in 11th place with 38 points.
Macedonia participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. On 24 July 2015, it was confirmed that they would return to the contest after a one-year absence. The national broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) held auditions at their studios in September 2015. Ivana Petkovska & Magdalena Aleksovska represented Macedonia with the song "Pletenka - Braid of Love". Unfortunately, the country ended in 17th place (last) with 26 points.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was the fourteenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which took place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta, Malta. This was the second time that Malta have hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, their first being in 2014. Jon Ola Sand was appointed as the Executive Supervisor for the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, following the dismissal of the former supervisor, Vladislav Yakovlev.
Bulgaria participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Their entrant was selected through the televised national selection "Decata na Bulgaria sa super", organised by the Bulgarian broadcaster Bulgarian National Television (BNT). Lidia Ganeva won the national selection and she got the right to represent Bulgaria in the contest. Ganeva performed the song "Magical Day " at the contest.
Ireland participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which took place on 20 November 2016, in Valletta, Malta. The Irish broadcaster TG4 was responsible for organising their entry for the contest through a national selection show entitled Junior Eurovision Éire. The national final took place on 6 November 2016, while the semi-finals took place between 9–30 October. This was Ireland's second appearance at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Russia participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which took place on 20 November 2016, in Valletta, Malta. The Russian broadcaster Russia-1, owned by the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Sofia Fisenko won the national final on 16 August 2016 with the song "Zhivaya voda". On 6 October, the Russian organisation team opted to change the name of the entrant to Water of Life Project, with the song also changing to "Water of Life".
Poland participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which took place on 20 November 2016, in Valletta, Malta. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. A national final of nine competing acts participated in a televised production where the winner was determined by a 50/50 combination of votes from jury members made up of music professionals and a public telephone vote. On 15 October 2016, Olivia Wieczorek was selected to represent Poland with the song "Nie zapomnij".
North Macedonia participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 which took place on 20 November 2016, in Valletta, Malta, under the provisional reference of "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia". The North Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) was responsible for organising their entry for the contest. Martija Stanojković was internally selected to represent North Macedonia with the song "Love Will Lead Our Way".
Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The Ukrainian entrant for the 2016 contest in Valletta, Malta was selected through a national selection, organised by the Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU). The semi-final took place on 13 August 2016, while the final took place on 10 September 2016. The winner was Sofia Rol with the song "Planet Craves For Love".
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 was the fifteenth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, organised by the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It took place on 26 November 2017 at the Olympic Palace, in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. This was the fifth time that the contest was hosted by the previous year's winning country. The visual design and contest slogan, "Shine Bright", were revealed in May 2017.
Ukraine participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 which will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on 26 November 2017. Their entrant was selected through a national selection, organized by the Ukrainian broadcaster NTU. The semi-final took place on 8 August 2017, where the 27 eligible submissions performed in front of a jury, and then they chose ten artists to qualify to the final, which took place on 25 August 2017. As a result, Anastasiya Baginska won the Ukrainian selection and got the right to represent Ukraine in Tbilisi, Georgia with the song "Don't Stop ".
Ukraine competed in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Armenia, which was held on 11 December 2022 in Yerevan. The country was represented by Zlata Dziunka with the song "Nezlamna (Unbreakable)", who won the national selection organised by the Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne.
