Ashneel Sudhakar

Ashneel Sudhakar is a Fijian politician and former Member of the Parliament of Fiji for the FijiFirst Party. He was the former Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources. [1] He was re-elected to Parliament in the 2018 election. Sudhakar was the former Government Whip. [2] On 13 March 2020, Prime Minister Bainimarama had dismissed Sudhakar as minister for lands and mineral resources following allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct. On 15 March, Sudhakar had resigned as member of parliament. [3] [4]

Early general elections were held in Fiji between 17 and 24 September 1977. They followed elections in March which resulted in a hung parliament and no party able to gain a majority. The new election resulted in a landslide win for the Alliance Party (Fiji) led by Prime Minister Kamisese Mara, which won 36 seats out of 52. It was aided by a split in the main opposition, the National Federation Party (NFP) and a decline in support for the Fijian Nationalist Party.

The Committee met from 2020 to 2021 and published its final report on 23 March 2021. Prior to publication, it leaked that the Committee concluded that First Minister Nicola Sturgeon misled them in her evidence.
