Aspergillus novoparasiticus is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus . It is from the Flavi section. [1] The species was first described in 2011. [1] It has been reported to produce aflatoxin B1, aflatoxin B2, aflatoxin G1, and aflatoxin G2. [1] A. novoparasiticus has been isolated from hospital patients. [1] Recently, it has been reported in maize from Brazil.[ citation needed ]
A. novoparasiticus has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
