Asutifi North District is one of the six districts in Ahafo Region, Ghana. [2] [3] [4] The District was formerly part of the then-larger Asutifi District since 1988, until the southern part of the district was split off to create Asutifi South District on 28 June 2012. The remaining northern part is Asutifi North District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ahafo Region and has Kenyasi as its capital town.
Asutifi North District had a projected population of approximately 62,816 people (Ghana Statistical Service in 2014). [5] The district is predominately rural, as 68% of the total population reside in rural areas. A majority (68%) of the residents engage in agricultural activities, although the presence of large-scale mining activities has led to a growing service industry (as of 2014). [5]
Close to 15% of the district population do not have access to basic water services. These households mostly use water from rivers, streams, unprotected wells and springs, dugouts, and tanker services. [5]
With regard to sanitation, public toilet facilities are the most common, with almost half of the population relying on public facilities as their primary sanitation facility. Close to 5% of the population practice open defecation in fields and bushes. [5]

Kenyasi is a combination of two towns: Kenyasi No.1 and Kenyasi No.2 Kenyasi has abundance of Gold resources hence Newmont, Ghana Ahafo mine having their operations in the area since 2007. Kenyasi has direct routes to places such as Mim, Ahafo( 24 km); Hwidiem ( 5 km); Ntotroso (13 km). Notable secondary educational institution in this town is the OLA Girls Senior High School (Kenyasi)
Ahafo Ano North Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 as Ahafo Ano North District, which was created from the former Ahafo Ano District Council; until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Ahafo Ano North Municipal District in November 2017. The municipality is located in the western part of Ashanti Region and has Tepa as its capital town.

However on 1 February 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Asutifi North District and Asutifi South District. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Jaman District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Berekum-Jaman District Council, until part of the district was split off to create Jaman North District on 12 November 2003 ; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Jaman South District; which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 November 2017 to become Jaman South Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Bono Region and has Sampa as its capital town.

It was formerly part of the then-larger Asunafo District from 1988 until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 12 November 2003 to become Asunafo South District. The remaining northern part was renamed as Asunafo North District which was later elevated to municipal status on 29 February 2008 to become Asunafo North Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Ahafo Region and has Goaso as its capital town.
Berekum East Municipal District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Berekum District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Berekum-Jaman District Council. It was later upgraded to municipal district assembly status and has been renamed as Berekum Municipal District on 29 February 2008; until the western part of the district was split off to create Berekum West District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Berekum East Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Bono Region and has Berekum as its capital town.

Banda District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Tain District on 17 February 2004; until the northern part of the district was split off to create Banda District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been retained as Tain District. The district assembly is located in the northeast part of Bono Region and has Banda Ahenkro as its capital town.
The Ahafo Region is a newly created region in Ghana with Goaso as its capital. The region has administrative and governmental legislature like all the ten already existing regions in Ghana. The region was carved out of the south-eastern part of the Brong Ahafo Region and was in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as the first Akuapim South District, which it was created from the former Akuapim District Council; until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Akuapim South Municipal District, with Nsawam as its capital town. However on 6 February 2012, the northeast part of the district was split off to create a new Akuapim South District, with Aburi as its capital town; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Nsawam-Adoagyire Municipal District, with Nsawam as its capital town. The municipality is located in the southeast part of Eastern Region and has Nsawam as its capital town.
