Athmiya Rajan is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Malayalam- and Tamil-language films.

Personal life

Athmiya was born in Kannur, Kerala. She completed her graduation in Nursing from Shree Devi College of Nursing, Mangalore. She married Sanoop K Nambiar on 25 January 2021 at Kannur. [2]

Career

Athmiya's first film as the lead actress came in Tamil film Manam Kothi Paravai in which she played a village belle opposite Sivakarthikeyan. She then played the lead in Ranjan Pramod's Rose Guitarinaal were she essayed the role of an airline trainee, an innocent girl caught between two lovers. [3] Malathi Rangarajan of The Hindu in a film review of Manam Kothi Paravai stated that "New-find Athmiya conveys a lot with her expressive eyes. Her role has substance, and she carries it off well". [4] In 2014, she appeared in Pongadi Neengalum Unga Kadhalum followed by Amoeba in 2016 were she played one of the victims. [5] Her next movie was in Tamil titled Kaaviyyan . [6] [7] She then portrayed lead roles Joseph (2018) and Maarconi Mathaai (2019). [8]

Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; was an Indian actor and comedian mostly remembered for his comic roles in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Ezhilmaaran S. is an Indian film director who works in the Tamil film industry. He made his directorial debut with the 1999 romance film Thulladha Manamum Thullum. His success streak continued with Pennin Manathai Thottu (2000), Poovellam Un Vasam (2001) and Deepavali (2007). Manam Kothi Paravai is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Ezhil. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Athmiya Rajan, while Ravi Mariya, Ilavarasu, and Soori, and Singampuli play supporting roles. The music is composed by D. Imman with cinematography by Sooraj Nallusami and editing by Gopi Krishna. The film opened to moderate reviews from critics, but it was the first commercial hit in Sivakarthikeyan's career. The film was remade in Kannada as Anjada Gandu (2014) and in Telugu as Vinavayya Ramayya.

The film starring Jayaram, Vijay Sethupathi and Athmiya Rajan marks Vijay Sethupathi's debut in Malayalam cinema and the 100th film appearance of actor comedian Aju Varghese. The film was dubbed in Telugu as Radio Madhav. This movie was a box office failure.
