Atul Kumar Rai is an Indian Hindi novelist and screenwriter. He is the author of Chandpur ki Chanda, [1] which was awarded the 2023 Yuva Puraskar for Hindi language works by the Sahitya Akademi. [2] He is also a dialogue writer of the 2022 film Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga .

Personal Life

Atul Kumar Rai was born on 19 February 1992 in the Bhumihar Brahman family. [3] His father is a farmer. Atul completed his high school at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir Sikanderpur Ballia. After intermediate, he completed his graduation in Tabla from Banaras Hindu University and has played Tabla in many national-level Music programs. During their post-graduation in Musicology from Banaras Hindu University, his interest shifted towards Hindi literature. He decided to become a full-time writer. and started writing a weekly Hindi blog. his blogs became popular in social media and were published in national newspapers like Dainik Jagran and Daink Bhaskar. people praised his writing style and suggested writing a novel. Writing career

Atul's debut novel is Chandpur ki Chanda which has generated the attention of thousands of readers from all over India. many national news portals, such as Jansatta, DNA, Times Now Navbharat, and Amar Ujala have written about the novel and praised his unique writing style. [5] [6] [7] In 2023 Sahitya Academy awarded Yuva Puraskar for Chandpur ki Chanda. [8] After the immense love of readers and the Sahitya Akademi Award, Dainik Jagran Nielsen Survey placed this novel at number two in the list of Hindi bestsellers in December 2023. [9]

His film writing career started with a short film The Suicide Note For which Atul got the best writer award at the Nirmal Pandey film festival Nainital. [10] His Film writing career in Bollywood started with Pankaj Tripathi's Sherdil the Pilibhit Saga which was directed by Srijit Mukherjee. [11]

Chetavani ra Chungatya is a patriotic Dingal poem composed by Thakur Kesari Singh Barhath in 1903 and addressed to Maharana of Mewar, Fateh Singh, exhorting him to uphold the traditions of his lineage and to not attend the Delhi Durbar. Maa Janaki Janmbhoomi Mandir or Punaura Dham is a proposed grand temple of princess Sita in Mithila at her birthplace. The site is located at the Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi district of Bihar in India. The site is considered as the appearance place from where Sita was found closed in a box from a farm field while the King Janaka was ploughing the farm field. Ramayana Research Council has proposed the construction of the world's tallest 251-feet statue of Mother Sita at Sitamarhi. There is a plan to build Janaki Dham in Sitamarhi on the lines of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. A grand campus known as Janaki Dham will be built on 57 acres of land near Punauradham. It is expected that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will laid the foundation stone of the Janaki Dham before upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. The foundation stone of the Janaki Janmasthali Mandir was laid by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar on 13 December 2023 at Punauradham in Sitamarhi, the place of manifestation of Goddess Janaki.

The Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2022, also known as Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2022, is a 2022 literary honour in India, which the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, annually confers on writers for their contribution in the field of Children's literature in any of the 22 languages of the 8th Schedule to the Indian constitution as well as in English and Rajasthani language.
