Autechre are an English electronic music duo consisting of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Formed in 1987, they are among the best known acts signed to UK electronic label Warp Records, through which all of Autechre's full-length albums have been released beginning with their 1993 debut Incunabula. They gained initial recognition when they were featured on Warp's 1992 compilation Artificial Intelligence.
Warp Records is a British independent record label founded in Sheffield in 1989 by record store employees Steve Beckett and Rob Mitchell and record producer Robert Gordon. It is currently based in London.
Gescom is an electronic music project based in the UK with close ties to the electronic duo Autechre.
Chiastic Slide is the fourth studio album by the British electronic music group Autechre, released 17 February 1997 by Warp Records. The album saw the duo continue to move further away from the ambient techno sound of their early releases, employing harsher, glitchier beats. Though not initially met with the same critical acclaim as Tri Repetae or LP5, Chiastic Slide was eventually recognized by critics as an innovative and "enormously influential" album.
Broadcast were an English band formed in Birmingham in 1995 by Trish Keenan and James Cargill (bass). Their musical style blended elements of 1960s psychedelia with early electronic music and samples from esoteric sources; it earned the band a cult following.
Tri Repetae is the third studio album by English electronic music duo Autechre, released on 6 November 1995 by Warp in the United Kingdom. In contrast to the duo's previous albums, Incunabula (1993) and Amber (1994), Tri Repetae features a distinct style that incorporates more minimal rhythms and spacious melodies.
Gantz Graf is a three-track EP released by Autechre in 2002 on CD and 12". A special DVD release was made available featuring the "Gantz Graf" video created by Alex Rutterford, as well as the videos for "Basscadet" and "Second Bad Vilbel", and a slide show of stills from the "Gantz Graf" video.
Untilted is the eighth studio album by the British IDM duo Autechre. The record was released 18 April 2005 in Europe and 19 April 2005 in North America by Warp Records, while Beat Records released it in Japan on 9 April 2005. The album charted at #199 in the UK. The cover art for the album was created by Alex Rutterford.
Anvil Vapre is the fourth EP by British electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp Records on 2 October 1995. It is a companion to their album Tri Repetae, being based on material from the same sessions, which were left out for space reasons. Unlike previous EPs, Anvil Vapre's tracks were split across two vinyl discs that were released separately. All four tracks are included on the CD pressing. Anvil Vapre was also released alongside Garbage as part of the US version of Tri Repetae.
Cichlisuite is the sixth EP by electronic music duo Autechre, released on August 26, 1997, by Warp Records. The EP was simultaneously released on CD and as two 12” records, all with unique cover art by The Designers Republic. Cichlisuite is Autechre's third release of 1997, following Chiastic Slide and the Envane EP.
Quaristice.Quadrange.ep.ae is a 2008 download-only EP by the electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp Records. It consists of alternative versions of tracks from the Quaristice album and is classified as an EP by the duo despite being more than two hours in length and being, at the time, the longest release Autechre had ever put out. The EP was released digitally via Bleep.com, one track at a time, between 19 May and 30 May 2008, and is available through various other online music stores as four individual bundles, as seen below.
Oversteps is the tenth studio album by British electronic music duo Autechre, released on Warp Records in 2010. The album was made available for official download on bleep.com and the Japanese iTunes Store on 22 February 2010; the CD and deluxe vinyl editions were released on 22 March 2010. Critics were generally quite positive about Oversteps, with many considering it more focused and accessible than previous albums. Four months after its release, Oversteps was followed by a companion EP entitled Move of Ten.
Move of Ten is an EP by British electronic music duo Autechre, announced on 25 May 2010 and released by Warp Records in June–July 2010, only a few months after Oversteps, Autechre's tenth major album. Move of Ten features packaging and artwork by The Designers Republic, and was released in mp3 as well as 16- and 24-bit WAV formats on 14 June 2010 via the bleep.com online music store. A release on CD and two (separate) 12"s followed on 12 July.
L-event is an EP by electronic music duo Autechre, released on Warp Records on 28 October 2013. The EP is a companion to Autechre's double album Exai, which was released earlier in the same year.
EPs 1991–2002 is a 5-CD box set which contains material from all 11 EPs released by British electronic music duo Autechre between 1991 and 2002 including Autechre's first EP, Cavity Job, presented for the first time on CD. The "Basscadet" remixes made by Beaumont Hannant and Seefeel are not included.
Orphaned Deejay Selek 2006–08 is an extended play record by the musician and producer Richard D. James under his alias AFX. It is the first EP using that moniker since 2005's Analord. It was announced by Warp Records on 2 July 2015 and a listing appeared on Bleep.com on the same day. An announcement for the EP also appeared on the Aphex Twin Twitter account on that date. Along with Warp Records' announcement, "serge fenix Rendered 2", the first track on the EP, was made available for streaming on SoundCloud.
AE_LIVE is a series of live recordings by British electronic music duo Autechre, initially released on 29 October 2015 by Warp Records. As of 2019, it consists of 28 soundboard recordings, each roughly an hour long, made during their 2014-2015 live tour. Said tour had its inception at Warp Records' 25th anniversary Warp25 celebration in Kraków, Poland on 20 September 2014, the duo's first live show since 2011. The recordings are accompanied by individualized abstract geometric artwork produced by The Designers Republic.
Sign is the fourteenth studio album by British electronic music duo Autechre. It was announced on 2 September 2020 and was released on 16 October 2020 through Warp Records. The artwork for the release was created by The Designers Republic. Critics responded positively to the album, and noted the album's more accessible direction compared to the duo's previous works. Plus, a companion album to Sign, was released without announcement twelve days later.
Plus is the fifteenth studio album by British electronic music duo Autechre. It was released digitally with no prior announcement on 28 October 2020 through Warp Records. Plus was released twelve days after Sign, the band's previous album. The album was released on physical formats on 20 November 2020. Critics noted that Plus took a more percussive approach compared to the duo's previous album. The cover and packaging artwork for the release was created by The Designers Republic.
Pulse of the Early Brain is a compilation album by the English-French avant-pop band Stereolab, released on 2 September 2022 under Duophonic Records and Warp Records. It is the fifth installment of the band's "Switched-On" series which collects the band's rarities, such as the EPs Simple Headphone Mind (1997) and Low Fi (1992); bonus and exclusive tracks from Chemical Chords (2008); and individual tracks from other albums, split singles and flexi discs. Unlike previous "Switched-On" releases, which compiled each of the band's eras in chronological order, Pulse of the Early Brain covers rarities from all over their career.
