Awaken the Dreamers is the third studio album by American deathcore band All Shall Perish. It was released on September 5, 2008, through Nuclear Blast. It sold just under 5,000 copies in its first week of release entering the Billboard 200 at number 126. [6] The album is notable for including clean vocals in tracks such as the title track and "Memories of a Glass Sanctuary", something that is rare in deathcore.

The tracks "When Life Meant More...", "Never... Again", "Awaken the Dreamers", and "Stabbing to Purge Dissimulation" have been added to the band's official MySpace page. [7] Rusty Cooley plays two guitar solos on the track "From So Far Away"[ citation needed ] and Cam Pipes performs guest vocals on "Black Gold Reign". The closing track, "Songs for the Damned", includes lyrics that reference famous heavy metal albums and songs by Opeth ( My Arms, Your Hearse , Blackwater Park , Damnation ), Slayer ( Reign in Blood ), Carcass ( Swansong , Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious , Heartwork ), Cannibal Corpse ("Stripped, Raped and Strangled"), Deicide ( Once upon the Cross ), Dying Fetus ( Destroy the Opposition ), The Dillinger Escape Plan ("Sugar Coated Sour"), Iron Maiden ("2 Minutes to Midnight"), and Danzig (as well as the song "20 Eyes" by Danzig's early band, the Misfits).

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett listed the album as one of his top 25 favorite albums from 2000 to 2009. [8]

DVD

The limited edition version of the album also comes with a bonus DVD entitled Stories from the Road. It runs for 34:25 and features footage of the band on tour, some live footage and a documentary of the making of "Awaken the Dreamers".

Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. Their current lineup consists of guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bassist Jack Gibson, drummer Tom Hunting, and lead vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza. There are no original members left in Exodus other than Hunting, who has departed from the band twice, in 1989 and 2004, but rejoined in 2007. Exodus is also notable for including a then-unknown Kirk Hammett, who was the band's lead guitarist from its inception to his departure in 1983, when he left to join fellow Bay Area thrash metal band Metallica as Dave Mustaine's replacement. Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. The majority of the follow-up to the previous record, Awaken the Dreamers, was recorded and mixed once again at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland with producer Zack Ohren. It is the final album to feature bassist Mike Tiner, guitarist Francesco Artusato, and drummer Adam Pierce.

Beyond Magnetic is the third extended play by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released to coincide with the band's 30th anniversary shows, in which they released a new song for all four days of the shows. It was originally released as a digital download exclusively on iTunes on December 13, 2011. All four songs featured on Beyond Magnetic were recorded for the group's Death Magnetic sessions but had not been released. Beyond Magnetic was released on CD on January 30, 2012 internationally and on the following day in the United States. As of September 2016, it has sold over 210,000 copies in the U.S.

It is the lead single to Hammett's solo debut release, an EP titled Portals which came out April 23 digitally as well as on CD and an exclusive ocean blue vinyl pressing for Record Store Day. The song's name is taken from the 1973 Clint Eastwood-starring Western of the same name. The song was accompanied by an animated music video released April 22.
