Predecessor | BMW 3 Series (G20) |
The eight generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version, ICE) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring) compact executive cars, as well as the BMW (i3) NA0 (sedan version, BEV). It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. After the G20, it is the second 3 Series to be offered with both petrol and electric powertrains. However, the ICE variant and the BEV variant ride on completely different platforms. [1] [2] [3]
The G50 3 Series makes use of BMW's Vision Neue Klasse design language, with the kidney grills being slimmer than previous generations and a more minimalist and futuristic design adopted, marking a radical design departure. The G50 3 Series will be the first 3 Series to not be offered with a manual transmission. Instead, it will be exclusively offered with an automatic transmission. [4] [5]
