1958 Asian Games Third edition of the Asian Games

The 1958 Asian Games, officially the Third Asian Games and commonly known as Tokyo 1958, was a multi-sport event held in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 May to 1 June 1958. It was governed by the Asian Games Federation. A total of 1,820 athletes representing 20 Asian National Olympic Committees (NOCs) participated in the Games. The program featured competitions in 13 different sports encompassing 97 events, including four non-Olympic sports, judo, table tennis, tennis and volleyball. Four of these competition sports – field hockey, table tennis, tennis and volleyball – were introduced for the first time in the Asian Games.

The South American Games, formerly the Southern Cross Games is a regional multi-sport event held between nations from South America, organized by the South American Sports Organization.

The I Southern Cross Games were a multi-sport event held from November 3 to November 12, 1978, in La Paz, Bolivia, with some events in Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

2009 Bolivarian Games

The XVI Bolivarian Games were a multi-sport event held in 2009 in Sucre, Bolivia. The competitions in Sucre took place from 15–26 November. A number of Bolivian cities hosted some of the sporting events, including Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and Tarija. Also, events were held outside of Bolivia, with Guayaquil, Lima, Quito and Salinas hosting a number of competitions. The Games were organized by the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO).

Badminton at the 2011 All-Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique was held between September 6–12, 2011.

The 2010 South American Race Walking Championships were held in Cochabamba, Bolivia, on March 6–7, 2010. The track of the championship runs in the Paseo El Prado . A detailed report on the event and an appraisal of the results was given by Eduardo Biscayart for the IAAF.

Badminton was contested at the 2015 Summer Universiade from July 6 to 12 at the Hwasun Hanium Culture Sports Center in Hwasun, South Korea. Men's and women's singles, men's, women's, and mixed doubles, and mixed team events will be contested.

Luana Tamara de Oliveira Vicente is a Brazilian badminton player who won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games.

Ygor Coelho de Oliveira is a badminton player from Brazil. He won the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships six times in the boys' singles and 4 times in the mixed doubles event with Lohaynny Vicente. Oliveira who placed 27 in the world junior ranking competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. He won his first senior international title at the 2014 Puerto Rico International in the men's singles event. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and became the first Brazil's male Olympic badminton player. He clinched three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team event. Coelho won a gold medal in the men's singles at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.

Dánica Nishimura Higa is a Peruvian badminton player.

Iván León But is a Chilean badminton player. In 2015, he competed at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. In 2016, he became the men's doubles runner-up at the Chile International tournament partnered with Bastián Lizama and the champion in the mixed doubles event with Camila Macaya. He also won two bronze medals at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships in the men's singles and doubles event. He clinched three bronze medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's doubles, mixed doubles and team event.

Artur Silva de Pomoceno is a Brazilian badminton player.

Diego Mini Cuadros is a Peruvian badminton player. He won the bronze at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles and team event. Teamed up with Zornoza, they lost in the semi final round to Canadian pair with the score 0-2. He also the runner-up of the Peru International Series tournament partnered with Zornoza. He was the silver medallists at the 2018 South American Games in the men's doubles and mixed team event.
