Balijhor is an Indian Bengali drama television series which premiered on 6 February 2023 on Star Jalsha and also digitally available on Disney+ Hotstar. [1] It stars Trina Saha, Koushik Roy and Indrasish Roy as the leads. [2] This show marks the comeback of Trina Saha and Koushik Roy as couples for the second time after 8 months from Khorkuto and of Indrasish Roy after his recent project Dhulokona, This show its end on 16th April 2023
Jhora Sen is a young girl, staying with her rich politically-strong family in Kolkata. While her father, Somudra Sen, finds peace in power, property and status; Jhora is in-love with a middle class man, Srot Basu. Somudra soon fixed Jhora’s marriage to Maharghya Banerjee, the former’s assistant, much against Jhora’s will.
On the marriage day, Jhora attempts to elope from the wedding, however fate plans it different for her as she ties the knot with Maharghya. The further story focuses upon the problems the newly-wedded face with the backdrop of family, relationships and politics.
The show was initially expected to create a high competition against competitor-show Mithai which airs on Zee Bangla. [3] However, it managed to only open with an average ratings of 4.5 in the premier week. [4]

Gaaner Oparey is an Indian Bengali television serial which aired on Star Jalsha from 28 June 2010 to 16 April 2011. This TV musical marked the beginning of a yearlong celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. The concept was a brainchild of the famous Indian director Rituparno Ghosh The songs were all popular Rabindra sangeets. Prosenjit Chatterjee brought back the magic of this show by launching an audio CD of its tracks on Mahalaya on 12 October 2015. On account of Rabindranath Tagore's 157th birthday, Star Jalsha decided to gift audience by uploading Gaaner Oparey on Disney+ Hotstar on 9 May 2018. It was re-aired on Star Jalsha during the 2020 lockdown period, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jol Nupur was a Bengali television serial which aired on Bengali GEC Star Jalsha by Magic Moments Motion Pictures. This is the second serial in Star Jalsha by Magic Moments Motion Pictures after IshtiKutum and the third longest running among all the serials produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures, preceded by IshtiKutum in Star Jalsha followed by BinniDhanerKhoi in ETV Bangla. The show was telecast at Mon - Sat 9:30 p.m. Jol Nupur replaced Sansaar Sukher Hoy Romonir Guney from 21 January 2013. It starred Lovely Maitra, Souptik Chakraborty and Aparajita Adhya in lead roles. After running successfully for almost 3 years and airing 901 episodes, the show went off-air on 5 December 2015 on a happy note to make way for Punyi Pukur.
Byomkesh was a 2014 Indian Bengali crime fiction television series based on the Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The series starred Gaurav Chakrabarty, Saugata Bandyopadhyay and Ridhima Ghosh as Byomkesh Bakshi, Ajit and Satyabati respectively.
