The Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board or BREB, is government organization in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is responsible for rural electrification. [1] It is the largest power distribution organization in Bangladesh. [2] BREB has brought all the 461 upazilas on grid under 100% electrification. [3] Major General S M Zia-Ul-Azim is the present chairman of the board.

History

The Rural Electrification Board was established in 1977. It implements electrification of rural areas in Bangladesh and builds electrics lines and sub stations. [1] It counterpart Bangladesh Power Development Board manages electric distribution in urban areas. [4] Palli Bidyut Samities in a subsidiary of the board and acts as a consumer cooperative. [5] The board has expanded rural electric connections rapidly. It has taken some market shares of solar energy. [6]

The Bangladesh Premier League 2023, also known as BPL Season 9 or Ispahani BPL 2023 Powered by Minister Group was the ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). In July 2022, after the International Cricket Council accommodated the month of January and February for this league in its Future Tours Programme, the BCB announced the schedule of the BPL for the next three seasons. Accordingly, the ninth season was scheduled to be held from 5 January to 16 February in 2023. BCB also decided to increase the number of teams to 7 and to sell the franchise rights for 3 years from this season.

The Bangladesh Premier League 2024, also known as BPL Season 10, was the tenth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh. The league is organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The season started from 19 January and final was held on 1 March 2024. In September 2022, the BPL Governing Council announced the seven franchises which took part in the tournament. Comilla Victorians were the defending champions.
